Welcome! Catholic Churches abound. We are parishioners at Epiphany in Venice. We thought it would be cool to be in the diocesan cathedral. Everywhere else we have lived it was way to far for Sunday's. The bishop does mass occasionally-good for the kids to see. And get to know him. They also have a pretty large and active youth group. We also visit, depending on schedules and moods, Our Lady of Lourdes in Venice,( has some great priests), San Pedro in North Port(really pretty and peaceful), and St. Charles in Port Charlote(stunning inside and great confession times on Saturdays). Good luck settling in, welcome Home!!

I run a mobile vet tech service, including transport, assistance with meds, anal glands and subQ fluids. Vet Tech Express. As for vets, Heron Creek is good (I've heard a little more expensive.) or Toledo Blade Animal Clinic is good too.

Amy for the record, I was the only "nanny" the Gonzmarts ever had along with Mary's "little sister w/big brothers/sisters" Kelly Holder. I started with them when their oldest Lindsay was 1 month old and I was 10. I worked for them non-stop until I was 21 and they were divorcing with 3 kids. RIP Mary Lynn Jourdet Gonzmart.

Dan Byrd, The Italian Restaurant you mentioned was called Columbi's. The Columbia Restaurant across from Jack Conway's Esso station originally was built as Club Jora, and was owned by the guy who had been running the Colony restaurant next to G&S Market. You can see a picture of Columbi's Italian Restaurant here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=129743447108052&set=a.120762744672789.29185.118900731525657&type=1&theater
