Is there a place around here I can take my daughter to see a pediatrician without it coating an arm and leg.I haven't got a referral from her previous doctor yet and she...

Pediatrics East in Trussville
Jamie S. replied:
Try Prohit Pediatrics in Moody. I know they can work you in. They did a referral from my old dr so that insurance would cover! 205-640-1200
I gotta pick a Dr for my unborn baby girl due in 4 weeks. Any recommendations on any the drs at Greenvale pediatrics in Alabasters 1022 tower?
Charlotte H. replied:
I use Dr Cosgrove she has done well by my son I used her for all my foster children she great
Marie K. replied:
Dr. Petelos at Greenvale in Hoover is the BEST!
Terry S. replied:
Vestavia Pediatrics all the way....they took care of my babies from day one. They are 25, 22 and 18 now. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Kellie S. replied:
Dr. Sester is wonderful!! Yes, there have been a couple of issues with my experience at Greenvale, but they were quickly corrected when I complained. Furthermore, you will never "always" agree with everything when it comes to your child. The thing to remember is wherever you end up you are the responsible party for how you allow people to treat you and yours....you are the boss and you get to hire/fire who takes care of you yours.

Southlake Ped. On Valleydale, Dr Goldblatt

Joseph Jolly, in Greenvale, i can not say enough wonderful things about this man!! You know he's the kind of doctor who takes his Job as a joy in life, not just a Job! We absolutely Love him...and we have two girls

In over 3 years at Greenvale, we never had an issue til last month when we took our daughter in for her 3 year checkup and the appointment had been canceled somehow. They got us in anyways. Then daughter got sick and Dr Stewart and her nurse were wonderful in helping us out without having to drag my daughter back out again for another visit. Granted, I will agree some of the front office staff and appointment setters could use a little help in the "nicer" field

Moved here a year and a half ago and gave birth to a baby in November. A friend with a baby highly recommended Dr Jolly, but he was not taking new patients. We were placed with Dr Wright. He is wonderful!!! HOWEVER, the front desk/office staff has been some of the most disorganized, rude medical staff I have ever encountered. Just getting registered there was a nightmare. Then they didn't know who my baby was when we showed up for her first scheduled appointment. Then my 9 yr old was injured in March and they had no idea who she was!!! They unapologetically refused to see her and we had to take her to the ER during flu season. I was very upset bc we registered in Oct. I threatened to leave and asked the office mngr if Dr Wright was at Hoover location. She said no and gave me excuses that were very very unprofessional and offensive (don't even want to repeat them- seriously), and blamed our prior ped for no paperwork. One of my dear friends works for our prior dr in GA, and was able to tell me the exact date and time everything was sent in early Nov. I wanted to see if they followed up on records as promised, but last week at our infant checkup, I asked if they received anything and they still had no paperwork or no clue who my oldest daughter was! I talked to dr wright and he seemed upset and aware of the front desk issues and assured me he would correct it. (Btw he said he is in Hoover 2 days/wk). They FINALLY followed up and registered my daughter at the end of last week and called my emergency contact instead of me to let us know. Lol. I'm waiting to see at our next appointment in 2 mos if they've cleaned house up front. I love the convenience of getting to the dr in less than 5 min. If nothing has changed- I will certainly be switching to Hoover. Dr wright is worth the drive, and the other drs are magnificent from what I hear as well. Sorry for the novel, but that's my story!
Autumn M. replied:
Danielle Parker sounds like our experience too! It absolutely baffles me. Unfortunately, no house cleaning has occurred we were just there two weeks ago. Waited an hour and 15 mins before someone decided to tell me they were going to make sure we were even set as present. It is unreal!!
Lisa M. replied:
We moved to vestavia pediatrics. Not convenient but by far the most professional, friendly staff. Dr Hamm is our favorite.

While we used Alabaster Pediatrics for many years, we changed to Greenvale for two reasons: My boys were getting older and wanted a male doctor, which Alabaster did not offer and scheduling an appointment with Alabaster is a nightmare because most, if not all, of the doctors work part time. We liked the doctors very much, but when they refer you to a doc-in-the -box, it's time to move on.
Stacy W. replied:
I have used Vestavia Pediatrics for 19 years, and they are awesome! I've never had any problems scheduling a last minute appt when needed for a sick child, and I agree that they are the most professional, friendly staff!
Melissa R. replied:

Dr. Cosgrove is who we use. Not all dr. There are accepting new patients so u might want to ask which ones are. I know dr. Jolly isn't or wasn't last year when I had to choose one.
Lanie B. replied:
We used Dr. Jolly and were very pleased.

LaShonda W. replied:
I do not know any Pediatric . doctors here in Alabaster. My kids go to Dr. Allison McAfee at Acton Rd. Pediatrics. its a small office, she is a great listener. Our wait time is usually 15 min. I have never waited longer than 30 min. My kids and I LOVE her!
Can someone recommend a pediatrician in Hoover for an 11 year old?
Nancy N. replied:
We have used Vestavia Pediatrics for years, 205-978-3200, Dr Hardwick. Their office is located near Red Lobster, behind the UHaul store on Hwy 31.
Sharon M. replied:
Greenvale Pediatrics - now located off Hwy 150 behind the Walgreens near Hoover Met. My two son's grew up at that clinic - loved the Doctors. They have many doctors on staff, should be able to find one who would be a match for your 11 year old.
Lisa E. replied:
Greenvale Pediatrics - wonderful practice!!! Several docs from which to choose.
