Recommend me a barber or hairstylist? I am man with longer hair and am looking for a reliable barber or hairstylist to help thin it out and make it a bit easier to...

I really like Jen S. (don't remember her last name) at Hair Garden on Fort St (near Cook), but I am a girl so don't know how she does with guy styles.:)

My fiance goes to that barber on Fort St as well. They do a great job.. and his business is rated #1 for a reason. It's also a really funny experience from what I hear.. because his clients are all so different. They do well with typical mens hair.. but I'm not sure what they do for longer styles. Take a look inside at the lineup and you can get an idea for yourself.

There's a barber show on Fort St. just next to the Dutch bakery. My mom cuts my hair but all the male friend I know go to that little Barber Shop. I think it's called Joe's or something generic like that.

Just moved into town and stumbled on Shear Image Hair & Body on Cadboro Bay Road. I asked for someone who was good with a guy's cut, and a girl named Robin was recommended. Absolutely phenomenal job!

theredfix.com I got a very good cut from a girl here. The shop is known for being edgy, clean and modern. I had a few friends tell me to go here. I have wavy long hair and am a guy. You may want to try them out. I go to the one on Broad. A cut will be between $45-$60
who remembers a barber shop at the Executive House i think where Barts is now
Glen M. replied:
The Executive House was built in 1964 located at 777 Douglas Street. Hy's Steakhouse began in 1965(?). I ate there with my first date when I was 16 back in the Spring of 1970. Charles Traynor and Chris Weiler worked in Hy's Steakhouse in the 1970's and they opened Bartholomews (Barts) in 1973-74. Up until then it was nothing but a warehouse and the west side was a swimming pool. Derick Jackson was the owner of the Hotel at the time (manager?) Jim Tapson was manager in 1976. The idea for Bart's was an old world (English) lounge as it was half the size it is today. They had a piano where one could sit around and sing along, I remember that a few times back in the mid 1970's.
