Sweet creek falls is great a little farther as it is about 10 miles past Florence towards eugene but worth it! https://www.eugenecascadescoast.org/7-waterfalls/sweet-creek/
Any good family restaurants on the coast. I'm new to the area. Looking for somewhere really good and family friendly
Carolyn L. replied:
Salty Dog is good along with Azul Mexican. If you like sushi just up the way on 101 in Seal Rock is a place. These are all places we have taken our grandson to and he likes the food.
Joan H. replied:
Le Roy's Blue Whale in Yachats, Izzy's in Newport, the China Restaurant in Waldport, the Salty Dawg in Waldport, the Drift Inn in Yachats.

Hilltop. Or go to Yachats. I think Cape Perpetua is the prettiest place in earth. Are you set in a beach wedding? I've seen a wedding up there. It's amazing and breathtaking.
Neill C. replied:
Hilltop Bistro in Waldport may cater...you can call them..
Traci O. replied:
Oh...if you are here on Thursday or Saturday Pacific Sourdough Bakery has a wonderful selection of bakery items. Open from 10-3, but you'll want to go at 10. Trust me.

My husband n I fell in love with Nye Beach.. Nice shops I would suggest Chowder Bowl in Nye Beach. We ate there 3 times, each time food was consistent, & flavorful plus service was extremely nice and helpful.. They had a comfortable patio area so maybe could rent facility for a few hours n then go window shopping. Beach is approx 50 yards from restaurant. Good luck!!
In Bend, Oregon there is an amazing Hawaiian food restaurant called Aloha Cafe. I miss it a lot. Anyone know a good Hawaiian restaurant around here?
Carla G. replied:
There's a good Hawaiian place in Corvallis that's supposed to be really good... That's the only place I know of that's fairly close. http://www.localboyzhawaiiancafe.com/lbhc4.pdf

Hey friends - looking for good gluten free options at a local restaurant. Vacationing with friends who love great food but are also gluten free. Ideas?? Thanks
Rebbecca G. replied:
There is a gluten free restaurant in Newport. It's called The Gluten Free Place
Stephanie H. replied:
Grand Central Pizza in Waldport has gluten free crust
Sherrie S. replied:
The local Mexican restaurants have many gluten free options, although not identified on the menu. The Drift Inn even has GF crepes. The Coffee Shop on the Newport Bay front also does great GF biscuits and The Chalet on Hwy. 101 has dozens of GF options from pancakes to desserts.
Anyone know when the new sushi restaurant Momiji in Newport opens? Hoping they'll be good and less expensive than the other two restaurants serving sushi in the area.
Robyn S. replied:
I personally prefer Asiatico in Newport for the coast, and contrary to Tina's saying otherwise, they have very good crab, real crab, and not crab salad mix like many other places do, (I know, because I eat there often enough). The best sushi, in my opinion, is in Corvallis at Sada's, who also have real crab, and are actually cheaper than Asiatico's. Any time I go to Corvallis I try to stop there to eat. If I go to Portland I'll go eat at Bamboo Sushi, which is awesome and a real treat. I have eaten sushi in Florence at Ichiban, and the last time I couldn't even eat it, so bad, the crab was so dry it was like dehydrated. I'll never eat there again. Mind you, I'm ONLY talking mostly about California rolls, as I have many food sensitivities that preclude me from ordering anything else much, so other items on the menu are not part of this recommendation. I have also been told that Asiatico's has a nice alcohol selection (I personally don't drink). I'll be interested in seeing what the new restaurant has to offer as well.
Tina K. replied:
Yuzen in Seal Rock is (in my opinion) the best. The only local place that uses real crab. Actual sushi chef, nice sushi bar. Kum Yons in Newport has a few rolls that are fairly inexpensive. Momiji has quality, yet cheap & huge lunch specials. I'm eager for them to open in Newport!
So I'm just curious are there any coffee shops or restaurants that do what's called "suspended" coffees? I think it's a great idea and thought maybe someone local was...

Next time I go to Beachside Buzz or the one in Seal Rock I'll ask. I used to participate when I lived in San Diego, it would be nice if some did that here as well.
