Can anyone recommend (a) a dentist in Boston or Cambridge, or (b) a tax accountant in the general Boston area? Thanks!

I loved my dentist in Boston! I think she moved to CA but I was pretty happy with her partner that I saw when she was on maternity leave. Also loved that she was Dr Chu! I think the practice is Mark Beal, and they are on Newbury St.

Dentist Recommendation? Can anyone recommend a Dentist in the area? Just for cleaning/checkup. They just need to be in walking distance from Brandeis campus.

If you don't mind a 30 minute walk, I've had really great experiences with NK Family Dentistry on Main St since I moved to Waltham a couple years ago. If you can, try to schedule an appointment on Monday when Amber is the hygienist on staff. Last time I was in she had a tool that she got from a dental conference, if I recall correctly it just blasts your teeth with baking soda to remove surface stains. My teeth looked great afterwards!

I had a high-priced dentist in Belmont. I recently discovered that BU provides dental services from students in the dental school. I switched. Not so expensive. You can call down there (BU dental school is in Southie) and make an appointment. Easy Uber ride. Otherwise there’s Gentle Dental on Main Street. Not sure how much they charge but they might be cheaper than a private dentist
Anrtherapy1 replied:
True. But the trade-off is it’s cheaper than the super overpriced suburban dentists that are ubiquitous in MetroWest. Cheaper than gentle dental even. I got great quality dental care from a 4th yr student that was supervised by a professor. Very friendly. Not arrogant. Didn’t try to pressure me for extra services or to get “potential” cavities filled that may or may not need to be done yet. This is the problem with suburban dentists. They pressure you for all these extra services. They hound you on the phone with calls and auto bot reminders, 3 days before your appintment and such. Come in NOW! You need to get the work done. You need to get it NOW. Enough is enough. I’ll decide when I need to get work done. (Whew) I’m fine to wait a few weeks or a month or two for the student who doesn’t harass me and overcharge me. And who does a fine job. But it’s your decision of course.
Anrtherapy1 replied:
I just made an appointment for October. The scheduling office called me to say would I like to come in earlier. I said no. So no slapdash here. Yes you may wait a month or two to get the appointment. In my case several months. Because I want to see the same woman that I saw previously and she is on some assignment until October. They wanted to schedule me with a different student but I said I’d rather wait. So it’s all a matter of what you want to do, what your schedule is, etc. Frankly to get in the same day by text would be amazing. Because typically usually have to wait weeks or a few months to get the appointment.

Sarah Haven Davis in Lexington On School St. Excellent dentist!
Dr Robert DeRegis on Bedord Street in Lexington. He does great work and doesn't recommend unnecessary work like some dentists do.
