Anyone have a recommendation for a car detailing service? I'm looking to get my girlfriend's car detailed. It's a tiny 2-door Civic. I do not have a preference...

I've used Fresh N Clean detailing and they were great (the blue mustang was mine). They got the sap off my car, the carpets vacuumed, and it looked amazing. They really seem to go the extra mile (and they're mobile. I live in an apt complex) I think the Gold detail was like $125 or something. for anything less than $400 they will probably cover your car in swirls edit: for a 2 dr civic you could prolly get away with $200 ish depending on the condition edit: check the forums on autopia.org and look at the regional section to find a detailer thats local and recommended

I've only ever had our car detailed once and I used a Google Offer for [Exotic Auto Detail](http://www.exoticautodetail.com/) located in the parking garage of the Ritz in Foggy Bottom. My deal gave me their $100 VIP package and it only took them an hour. We were happy with the work done (i.e., Christmas tree pine needle removal, glass cleaning, dust removal from the textured dash, etc.)

You people paying money to get your car detailed... Invest a bit of money in the supplies and do it yourself? I find the work enjoyable, and good physical activity if it's all done by hand..

What is a good town car service for the airport? I know someone asked this a while back but now I am in need of a ride to the airport in a few days. Any suggestions...

Quick Passport trick/agencies/services? Hi--
A friend and I are tentatively planning a trip to EU in August but I'm unsure if i'd be able to get a new passport in time...

The State Dept. offers expedited service. Oh look a whole page from google that I found in two seconds. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast.html

Call your member of Congress. There'll be a person in their office who deals with the passport office on behalf of constituents. Ask to speak with them, explain your situation, and do whatever they tell you.

1 dayuspassport.com my company has used these guys several times for passports and visas. It took about a month for me in a similar situation. I had more time though so I didn't go.with the fastest option. Times a way different now but I still recommend checking them out.

You can make an appt at a passport agency if you’re leaving within 14 days and get it on the spot

Not US but I just got a new UK passport that they said would take 12 weeks within 4 weeks, that was standard cost no expedited.

I've used UandPet multiple times (to take my dog to training classes). They were always on time and very friendly. I highly recommend them.
shnuffleupagus replied:
How big is your dog? I've found that most Uber drivers are totally fine with it - you can always send them a text saying "are you ok with a small dog in a carrier, if not let me know and I'll cancel" and then give them a small cash tip ($5 or so) to thank them for accomodating you. Same deal with cab drivers, though it's kind of a crap shoot in that you can't let them know in advance.
port53 replied:
Instead of trying to find a cab at the last minute that might take you, just pre-book with any cab company over the phone, speak to the dispatcher and ask for a car/van that can take you and your dog. If they can't accommodate, hang up and move on to the next cab company until you find one that does.

I live in DC and needed a ride for me and my 60 lb lab/pitbull mix. I tried Uber and Lyft and could NOT get a driver to take my dog. One driver said yes... then when he saw my big dog - he didn't want to/ was worried about his car seats, etc... I always go through U and Pet when I need a ride with my dog. Not worth the hassle of trying to get one of these rider apps to work out...
Gumburcules replied:
Do you not have any friends with personal cars who can give you a ride? What day are you leaving? If I'm around I'd be glad to drive you for some beer money. My car already has so much dog hair in it I would never notice the difference.

Request an Uber SUV. Message driver immediately and ask if dawg okay. If driver says no, get him to cancel.
1one1000two1thousand replied:
I probably use Uber or Lyft with my two lap dogs weekly, I just call after they've assigned me a driver and ask if it's okay. It's only ever been a problem once. And they just cancel and drive away. nbd. Also, most the drivers tell me how much they appreciate me asking beforehand even though they have no problem with it as there are people who just hop in with their dog. I'd just call them after you've been assigned to a car.

I was in an Uber the other day and while I was in it the next rider called to make sure a dog is okay, driver said it was fine. Probably worth a shot.
