Hello,
Admin please remove my post and accept my apology if this is not the right place
Does anyone know a good family doctor in waterloo ( or kitchener ) ? Good in...
Tina E. replied:
Dr. Dusseault at Andrew St. Family Health Centre is currently accepting new patients. https://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/105272/Dr-Laurie-Dusseault-Toronto-ON.html

Melanie E. replied:
I would advise against the Victoria Medical center if thats Dr. Wang. We registered when she was at Heritage about 6 weeks ago and since our initial consultation I have been trying to contact them without luck until yesterday. They moved a week after we signed up yet made no mention of the move...
Chrystal W. replied:
I agree about Dr. Takhar... she's mine and well, I never see her... always SOMEONE different and they never know what's going on... so annoying
Paula H. replied:
Can someone post more info about Dr. Takkar and Dr. Wang? We just switched there but have not seen them. I am worried?
Kevin S. replied:
We just switched to Dr. Yanna Jugdave at Weber & Union. So far so good. She seems knowledgable and, unlike our previous doctor, she seems to actually like people. With our previous doc, it always felt like we were trying to force a conversation with the back of a surly iMac. There were so many places she could have put that computer on her desk, but she chose to use it as a shield against her patients.
Kevin S. replied:
Website for Dr. Jugdavehttp://www.themedicalclinic.ca/dr-y-jugdave.html PS. Personally I don't mind that your post is off-topic for this board, it's important and sometimes you have to ask other parents wherever you can find them. But I'm not admin, so my opinion is for entertainment purposes only.
Joan N. replied:
New Vision Family Health Team on Greenbrook Dr is great. I believe the whole practice has about 12 doctors which some may have vacancies for new patients. I haven't heard anything bad about any of the doctors in there.
Dawn H. replied:
Paula I have an appointment with Dr Wang today. First one I will update my thoughts.
Danielle S. replied:
Dr Takkar is terrible! After 3 years of never actually seeing her, driving all the way to Cambridge only to be told she had cancelled my apt and oh didn't anyone call you? (Happened twice in a row) then the third visit I waited almost two hours for my physical (this is 2 hours once I'd been called into the little room) and then I had to leave because my kids needed picking up - I finally left. She is more interested in her Botox clinic than being a GP.
Margaret L. replied:
We were with Dr Landy for years. He's now at the Ira Needles location. The only reason we switched to another dr was because after 10 years of "commuting" we decided to find one closer to where we had moved to. He's a GP but was also a paed way back when, and his receptionist/RN is fantastic! Only downfall is he's always running behind (but that's because he doesn't rush his patients if they ask to speak with him, and because he's always great about squeezing in sick children so parents don't have to wait a few days for an appointment).
Justin W. replied:
519-621-2424 That's the direct number to coronation family physicians which is in the delta medical center. Good luck
Wanda G. replied:
Dr. Paul denbeigh on queen street. He has been my doctor for the last five years and he is very knowledgable. He believes in routine checkups.
Dawn H. replied:
The DR's at Victoria Medical center are still accepting. We just registered this week. They also have an office in Cambridge. 1561 Victoria St North 518-804-1080
Margaret L. replied:
Just don't waste your time with Dr Takhar in Cambridge (unless you plan on signing up with her Botox clinic too). She's awefull!
Justin W. replied:
Delta clinic in Cambridge right beside the hospital. The docs are great but the admin is pretty bad lol. Dr. Rawal especially is really great.
Angela C. replied:
The new Medical centre on Ira Needles was accepting patients...not sure if it still is. Ive only been there once but was impressed.
Cindy M. replied:
I love my NP and I believe that the clinic is still accepting patients. http://wrnplc.ca/ There is a clinic in Cambridge and Kitchener close to Pioneer Park. I've never had an issue having same day appointments. They even stayed open late when my daughter's ear drum burst.
Nandita B. replied:
Dr. Penny English at the Waterloo Boardwalk. I recently moved to Waterloo and feel glad to have found her..she is great with my 3 month old.
Pam L. replied:
Also with Dr. Jugdave. Really like her so far; she is great with my kids and actually remembers patients!
Hey Guys.. I have a friend that is 7 months pregnant and she is looking for a family doctor and can't find one =/ she is so worried because of the baby.. if you guys...
Nathalie J. replied:
There is a practise opening down by the St. Jacobs farmers market, they might take on new patience. http://www.waterloohealthcentre.com/ She should also call University Downs Family Practise.
Jillian S. replied:
I'm with Mango Tree Family health team - last time I was there (in November) I believe they were accepting patients (they have 2 locations Kitchener and Guelph).
Tricia H. replied:
Last I was there, Dr. Lee at the boardwalk med center was accepting new patients.
Louise K. replied:
Try Dr Dianne Ensing over at Driftwood Family Medicine. That group was accepting new patients.
Wendy H. replied:
Dr. El Boreky on Union
Kainaz P. replied:
This is what I went thru... we moved here when I was 7 mths pregnant. I had called the grand river hospital and they directly asked me to start visiting an OBGYN ... they connected me to Dr. Stephen Halmo... he is wonderful. 519-741-8710.
Kelly P. replied:
Dr. Mallory Meyer's on University Avenue
Sheri B. replied:
you can try the medical centre on Ira Needles. There are alot of doctors in there, and I imagine at least 1 doctor will be taking new patients. Here is their website http://www.the-boardwalk.ca/medical-centre/
Katie L. replied:
My Doctor (Dr. Andersen) is currently setting up a new clinic at the Andrew St Family Clinic and is accepting patients. I love her!

Urgent. My 5 year old niece is very sick. She has a fever that doesn't go down. Yesterday they went to walk-in clinic and received an antibiotic for throat infection but...
Yuliana R. replied:
Lancaster clinic used to have a good doctor, but I find the one they have now is not very good. I saw him twice and both times he prescribed an incorrect dose of antibiotic. If you still want to go to a walk in, may be the one on Ira needles or the one on University should be good. Did they do a swab for strep throat? Also, be aware, that sometimes that Instant swab maybe negative, but if it goes to the lab, it may be more accurate and positive. We had this kind of experience. So, request the swab to go to the lab even if it is negative. Best of luck, hopefully she gets better. MAybe healthconnect may help with finding a family doctor? As far as I know, there is a doctors' office ( and-yes, I think there is an urgent clinic there too) in St Jacobs, right next to the North Waterloo Radiology. They used to take new patients. The urgent care there is open 11-3 today and 10-12 tomorrow.
Jennifer W. replied:
Also, they can go through Health Care connect to get set up with a family doctor. It didn't take very long at all for us when we moved to Waterloo. Here's a link to the information: https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-family-doctor-or-nurse-practitioner
Alicja S. replied:
BTW, the Laurentian clinic inside Zehrs is amazing. He is an awesome doctor.
John P. replied:
40 c is still not too bad. If the child is drinking and urinating regularly that's good. Alternating between Advil/ibuprofen and Tylenol/acetaminophen seems to work well with many kids. If the child becomes non responsive and doesn't cry or interact that's bad. It's likely viral which will require waiting it out. Antibiotics will do nothing if the illness is viral. Looking for a Doctor and a Dermatologist Hi,
Does anyone know of a good Dermatologist that doesn't charge $400 or $500 for a cyst removal?
And I am also looking for...
mrdarnley replied:
Some of the Docs at Andrew St Medical Centre (Dr Lubitz, in particular) were accepting new patients a few weeks ago. Good luck!

A general surgeon will usually do that sort of thing for free, unless it is on the face in which case it goes to derm or plastics. You med a referral of course so the family doctor is definitely the first step
Longhurdontcurr replied:
For the cyst, your best bet is The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic in Waterloo (near the Waterloo Public Library). Either Dr. Robert Shenker or Stephanie Ma, they're both good. You don't need a referral to see them since it likely won't be covered. Give them a call for sure but I really don't think you'll find anyone who can/will do it for less than $400. Source: I work for a dermatologist and that's who we refer patients to

Coronation Family Physicians in Cambridge. I submitted my profile in January, they accepted me in April. I havent gone there obviously, but I have a phone consultation next week.
we recently bought a house in this amazing neighbourhood! We are hoping for some in finding a family doctor and dentist. If you have any recommendations please let us...
Jennifer J. replied:
We have been patients of Dr. Suljak at Dentistry at University Downs (Bridge/university) for more than 15 years and can't say enough good things about him and his team. I'd highly recommend them. I can't help with a doctor as mine is in another city. Welcome to this amazing neighbourhood!
Sharon G. replied:
We go to Karen Lee at University and Bridge and she has been great with the whole family!
Shannon W. replied:
We just switched to Eastbridge Dental and they have been wonderful.
Cindy W. replied:
We've been with Eastbridge Dental for many years and they are great!! Welcome to the neighbourhood:)
Kim M. replied:
My dentist is Dr. Iacob in the ShortStop Plaza. She has been a good dentist.
Shari C. replied:
We see dr. Hayley at Bayley Dental. Always great. Especially with my kids.
Kelly P. replied:
Dr Mallory Meyer on University Ave in the little plaza kind of across from Pillers. She is great
Lynne M. replied:
My husband is very happy with Eastbridge Dental right here in our subdivision.
Does anyone have their family doctor at the university downs plaza? A friend recommended her but I would love more feedback. We are a young family, so patient and good...
Rebecca P. replied:
Hey Jackie. We see Dr. Takacs. I'd be happy to chat with you about our experience.
Alex G. replied:
We also see Dr.Takacs and have nothing but positive things to say about our experiences with her and the other staff at the office.
Does anyone have a family doctor I the st.jacobs health team? Would love to hear your feedback.
Kim F. replied:
I recently signed up with Dr. Joy Singh in the Wissler medical building (the mirrored one on the corner at Northfield). I've seen her a couple times and really like her. The receptionist is great and the doctor never rushes me. She's still accepting patients I believe.
