We used JB Tree Care and had 2 large trees trimmed and a 25 foot tree taken down for under $1000. It costs less if you do it during the "off season". Summer always means higher prices.

Terri -- would you be willing to share who gave you the original quote? We've used Rainbow Treecare for our 120+ year-old elm, but their prices do seem higher compared to others. They've always done excellent work though, and we've needed some specialized service.

Kyle, Try Ivan's Tree Service out of SSP. He did a great job removing our Maple tree back in 2013 when a wind storm weakened the root system. http://www.ivanstreeservice.com/ His prices were very reasonable. He is insured, licensed and has workmans comp insurance. I would highly recommend him and his crew.
