Either hire a professional company or go to a diamond rental or something and get the right equipment. You need a stronger vac and some heavy duty fans. The kind that look like snails. Then they will need to run for a week, depending on how its going. As far as companies, we had Utah Disaster Kleenup work on our office one time when it flooded. They did a pretty good job, we didn't have to replace any carpet either.

Sorry about your basement... I would recommend Utah Disaster Kleenup if you want to go the professional route. After you get it all cleaned up, I would invest in a water alarm just in case you have another leak again.

Step 1 is to stop the water. Hopefully you've already done that.
I think your best bet is to go buy a better shop vac. Heck, even KSL classifieds can probably get you a nice one for much less than you'd pay any professional. Make sure it's empty and use only the foam filter, not the paper one.
Vent air down there as much as possible. Open windows. Hopefully you have a door to close off the rest of your house or it's gonna get cold.
It's also not a huge deal to pull back the carpeting so that it and the pad beneath it can dry out. I'd suggest doing that. Tamping it back in place when it's dry takes some skill, but if you think you might lose the carpet then you might as well try.
Time's a factor. Good luck.

ServiceMaster by Smith did a great job on our basement both times it flooded. Also, make sure to call your insurance company. If it was pipes, sprinklers, etc. it could be covered by your home owners policy, including the clean up. Contact info: http://www.svmrestore.com801-972-4444
