Welcome to the area. We just moved here in April. You will love this group, I still refer back to it at least once a week. Most all recommendations are wonderful. We use Geico for car. Progressive home advantage for our renters insurance. And then Pediatrician Dr Barbosa with One Source Pediatrics in Weston. He was wonderful. Real good with my kids. Took his time. They have an office in Weston We go to Breakthru Therapy Services in Davie very close to Weston and are very happy there. ABA is a bit dificult to get because most have a waiting list. PBS is excellent. For ortho we have Dr. Eric Eisner at JoeDimaggio Children's Hospital is not in Weston but he is simply amazing with children.

Hi Petra, we moved from Michigan 5 years ago and experienced the same shock. Don't worry, you have enough time to get that form from a pediatrician. We arrived 1 week before school started and we were running everywhere like headless chickens. We picked Pediatric Associates and they did my daughters' physical. We like Dr. Lori Lehman.

The Dan Marino Center by Cleveland Clinic does school physicals and charge I believe $10 for the forms, if you don't have insurance. Dr Monte Fernandez is a great Dr.

My daughter does competitive cheer and she broke her finger tumbling. I took her the Cleveland clinic in Weston and it was fractured. They put it on a splint and referred us to a orthopedic doc. We went to U18 orthopedic in Miramar. They were nice and careful with her. Unfortunately, there isn’t much they can do with broken/fractured fingers unless it is badly broken and displaced and surgery is needed. In her case, we needed to get the fingers to heal ASAP so we buddy taped it. I highly recommend you take her to the doctor as soon as possible. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

Most hospitals and or Urgent cars will X-ray only and refer you to a specialist. The only 24 hour in house orthopedic doctors are the residents in the ER at Jackson Memorial in Miami. Wait till morning and go see an orthopedist in their office. One less bill and one less X-ray.

I would call Dr Blum. U might have to tell u have to be seen right away. It will take time to get appointments

Dr. Blum did my son's surgery, he needed pins because of a separation in the fracture. It healed fine afterwards. Good luck.

I'm a peds ER nurse but also had a soccer goalie son when he was younger...that broke many a finger...with no pain. I don't have xray vision & neither does anyone here. My advice is always ER for xray unless u can get it xrayed elsewhere. I never have & never will advise to wait with a child's injury. My son had a very hi tolerance for pain & his dr always advised getting it looked at sooner than later. Joe DiMaggio...Dr DiSimone is great. If you wanted to go the Dr route, i would have called& explained & followed their advice. JMO

I'd go directly to a pediatric orthopedist...I use Neil McNerney in Pembroke Pines . In past when I go to ER I end up retaking X-rays anyway. He's part of a group, office in Memorial West. Might be growth plate injury.

Dr Shenassa at South Florida Sports Medicine in Weston Town Center specializes in hands. My daughter broke her pinky and he performed the corrective pinky surgery. If he didn’t she wouldn’t have been able to play the piano or softball again.
