Jr. was in charge when Stew Sr. was in prison, and yes, they were tipping the produce scales. The other son, Tom Leonard, runs the Danbury store.

To set the record straight, yes Mr Leonard went to prison for tax evasion but he took the blame for what others did. Read his auto biography. The charges from weights and measures were dropped. Tom Leonard has his own store in Richmond,Va. That's a whole other story. Susan when did your daughter work in Danbury and what's her name? I've worked for Stews since 1982 in Norwalk and Danbury

Thanks Tammy for setting the record straight on Stew's. His kids are all involved in the business. Does Beth still manage the bakery? Does Tom L. have a similar store in VA? I don't go to Stew's even though I live nearby. Too overwhelming for me, the closest I get to the main store is the plant center.
