On the curly hair... I've found a minor miracle for my niece. Tre Semme Keratin Conditioner. Use plenty, rinse almost completely but not too vigorously, and her hair was like silk. So easy to comb, brush, dry, style.

I hear Jessica Garcia is really good. She works from home (so I have yet to see her, I'm timid) and has really great prices 10 for a cut and 50 for practically any type of coloring.
