Anyone know of an Oral Surgeon in the Wilmington, NC area that offers sliding scales for the uninsured? Will travel in a 3 hour radius, if needed.

We have a great one up here, and of course I would love to have you visit… Dr. Anthony Murray. I'm not sure about the sliding scale, but here is the link with info: http://www.carecredit.com/doctorlocator/R._Anthony_Murray,_DDS_PA/Dental/Oral_&_Maxillofacial_Surgery/27834

Thanks, Lisa Beth! I'm actually looking on behalf of my daughter. The one who is balking at a long drive. The out of pocket quote she got in Southport was $2000. Dr. Murray looks good, but he doesn't offer sliding scale. Scott, that's a really good idea!

ECU has a new Dental School but I'm not sure they have Oral Surgeons.

Mike says he's been very pleased with Coastal Cosmetic, out on 211 (bummer--they just had their free dentistry day). You could try them, or New Hope Clinic will do free extractions if income is no more than 150% of the poverty rate; you'd have to register with the clinic. They're in Boiling Spring (lots less than 3 hours).

When I first moved here, 2 yrs ago, Suvi B broke her tooth and needed surgery. Dr. Lanzi at College Road Animal Hospital performed the surgery and I was very happy with the care Suvi B received. Dr. Lanzi is not an oral specialist but I was quite confident in his medical abilities. To this day, Dr. Lanzi is still Suvi B's veternarian.
Wilmington W. replied:
If you specifically want an oral specialist, NC State is the place to go.
