Can anyone recommend a great pediatrician? My children currently go to Shenandoah Community Health and their "sick visit" scheduling is horrible.
I can't sit on the...
Jenn W. replied:
Definitely don't go with Dr. Jones! I wanted to address Nick's attention issues when he was 4/5, and he just brushed it off and said wait until he's in school. Oh, so I can have a bigger mess on my hands? Also, when Nick was 2, I took him in on a Friday morning bc he was so sick and couldn't eat. He sent us to get chest x-rays but didn't bother to mention they were closing early. So he would've had to go all weekend being sick and not eating. I took him back to the hospital and the poor kid had walking pneumonia!

Tara P. replied:
I took Addie to dr. Eke, she is still to this day scared to death of doctors, hate her! Took her dr, Joe and her office staff are so unfriendly, dr joe her self is great. I heard great things about Winchester Pediatric associates, now both of mine go there and I love it. They take their time and sick appointments are awesome, you are in within two hours and even on weekends, you can talk to someone 24/7!
Ashly D. replied:
Tara, I have an appointment with Dr. Joe tomorrow for both of the kids. Were you able to get sick visits there reasonably? I'm trying to stay in Martinsburg just because it's just me that is able to take them to their appointments and the closer I am the less time I need to take off. I think I'll give her a shot and if it doesn't work out, I'll go to Winchester Ped. & Assoc.
Looking for a pediatrician in the area for my five-year-old trying to switch doctors.

Winchester Pediatrics in winchester IS the best...not sure if they are taking new patients though. They may if you have a brand new baby. Dr Damron & Dansie spend lots of time with you in the room...they NEVER rush me! love them!!! 540-667-1727
Maralee P. replied:
My girls go to Front Royal Pediatrics. They have gotten my daughter in last minute when she had a nasty double ear infection. I just don't recommend their after hours call ppl.
Christina C. replied:
Winchester Peds is not taking new patients unless newborn... I take mine to Pediatric Assoc of Winchester. I called 2 weeks ago and recieved a call back from the actual physician! That was comforting. Good Luck!
We use and love Dr. Volenski, winchester pediatric, he is the only one we see there.
Jon C. replied:

Brandon K. replied:

Kristin M. replied:
Pediatric Associates. I'm not into Dr. Dahamine, but everyone else is great.
Kristin M. replied:
And I had to start taking the younger girls to Winchester Pediatrics (insurance mix-up).. and we don't see Volinsky. I don't think he's taking any more patients.. and Sam and I really don't like the other doctors there.
Kristin M. replied:
Furthermore, Pediatric Associates is a lot more personable. They give information worksheets on all the shots they give, use several nurses at once to do the immunizations to make it less traumatic for the child, give out books on well check-ups, they don't make you feel like you're asking too many questions and don't give unsolicited advice to make you feel like a bad parent.. they're just awesome.
Lisa H. replied:
Katie Helmick Barley uses pediatric associates
Shelley L. replied:
I wish Dr Bott would have kept practicing ( he retired at the end of 2014 ) I loved him and his staff. My 13 year old was born at 29 weeks and Dr Bott went to the NICU everyday to check on his vitals. He was great with both my boys, but that's my opinion I have made appointments at a few offices to check them out but not choosing until I've talked to a few more. Lol
Kristi R. replied:
Dr. Volinsky
Katie B. replied:
Sure do use Pediatric Associates of Winchester love them they are awesome. Dr Bott told me to basically shake my oldest to keep him awake during feedings at 2 days old
Luanne H. replied:

I've used Dr Evans at Swanee pediatrics for 6 years. Love everyone there, same nurses and clerical staff for ten plus years. My wait time is minimal, and she's a great listener. Wonderful medical professionals with good care. I will never change!!
Ok parents, any good recommendations on a pediatrician in Winchester?
Shannon H. replied:
She is still around; we actually use the same office as Dr. Duck, we just see a different doctor. I like the doctors, but they're too overbooked and we can't get her in until August 20, so we're toying with the idea of using a different place. She's doing great, but I think she might have intestinal issues, because her gas gets really bad and she strains, all the time. I just want to get her checked out. And if I had to sound it out, I would s'pose "Ugh-lay-nuh," lol
Jody O. replied:
Dr. Susan Gawalt. Have used her for all 4 of my boys. Trust her completely
Kirby C. replied:
Hadrian goes to Winchester Family Health Center. Mr. La Bree is only a nurse practitioner, but he's been with Hadrian for almost three years and he's fantastic!
Melissa M. replied:
I think Rochelle really liked Dr. Duck for William, but I have no idea if she's still around. I'll be looking for one soon too. How is the baby doing?
