Before you get to Tellico Plains on the right heading west next to the river is Tellico "Beach" and a burger joint. If you didn't know the BRP is open all the way. There's some construction at each end but that's got one lane open. Mile Marker 80 and 285.

Yes, I agree with Roger. Mount Pisgah has a wonderful campground at a high elevation. We have camped there a number of times over the years. Many times you will find yourself camping in the clouds, which is pretty cool

Switzerland Inn in Little Switzerland, near Spruce Pine, NC. We stayed there during our trip, owed the wife something great for our 30 th, and they delivered.

Famous Louise's Rock House Restaurant near the intersection with Rte 221 heading toward Marion NC. Good "home cookin" type meals for reasonable prices.

If you're into a 5 hour drive, the Canaan Valley in West Virginia is our favorite mountain spot, hands down. Primo hiking and water falls, some good eats, and The Bright Morning Inn is our B&B joint.
