Winston-Salem Dog Training School is the best in this area. They offer obedience classes beginning with puppy-friendly orientation up to rescuing people from their own inability to handle the already-grown dogs they have difficulty handling. They are c ertified to present AKC Canine Good Citizen titles as well as TDI therapy dog training. You go with your own dog, as that is the preferred method of training companion animals. Our 2 Rottweilers were awarded their Canine Cood Citizen titles and went through obedience training from the time they were puppies. The one we have now completed the requirements for being certified as a therapy dog. We have 20 years of experience with the club and it is the very best value for anyone whose goal is to have a manageable, well-trained pet. You invest in 45-minute once a week classes and do your homework. You will be rewarded with a great dog (which, technically, you already have, you just both need to get on the same page to appreciate each other). Best wishes.

Don't do obedience training. It really only masks behavioral issues. It is better to set a behavioral foundation and obedience follows naturally. Not to mention many obedience classes recommend techniques (prong collars, shock correction, etc.) that ul timately lead to a fearful and even aggressive dog and put you back at square one. I can help you with behavioral training which will build a good foundation and will keep obedience from being an issue in the long run. Best part is there is a lifetime guarantee and I will come to you. I am from ardmore, in Raleigh right now, but can come on weekends at a minimum. Email me for more info and so I can get some more detailed info as well: ashleybc@unitedk9 professionals.com

Ronni Buzon at PetSmart on Hanes Mall. She’s one of the best. I would suggest doing the beginners in a class and then switch over to privates. I found that I do better without all of the store distractions and so does the dog.
I'm looking for a dog trainer to cm to my house once or twice a week depending on pricing. I am at my wits end! my puppies are ruining my house I love them so much but...

Christian Strupe Cooper do you need a bell? We trained Evy with the bell method. She's gotten so good at knowing what it means that I've taken it off the door and was about to donate it to ASPCA. Also I truely recommend the Winston Salem Dog Training Academy classes. They started sign-ups today for the spring session which starts in April. It's 8 weeks for $80 and it's so worth it! We took our younger Dog Evy because she didn't listen and that one on one attention with her for an hour a week was so helpful. http://www.wsdtc.org/class.php
Diana B. replied:
I don't know that you will find anyone to come to your home at that price. We have used https://www.facebook.com/281957001929157 Dog Training Pluto's Way for years - they have both group and private classes. We have 5 dogs and they have helped to train them all. We also use bell training in our house and it is very helpful.

def_not_me replied:
Not to be a jack ass or anything, but dogs (at least at a younger age) tend to respond very well to physical punishment. If I were you or your fiancee and you try to take something away from him and he snarls at you I would show him whos boss by either giving him a smack on the butt or picking it up by the scruff of the neck. Someone needs to show him that he not he boss and if he tries to pick a fight with someone that has 100+ or so pounds on him, it will end very badly for him. Again, much easier with a younger dog and not one set in his ways. Sorry I cant provide a good trainer for you in the area.
Dog behavioralist in Durham? Does anyone know a great dog behavioralist in Durham? Specifically looking for a behavioralist or a trainer who can work with my 1.5 year...

I had great success with Jane Marshall and her team. Also, they did offer classes in Durham pre-covid. I don't know how they are dealing with the covid thing. [https://www.cheerydogs.com/trainers](https://www.cheerydogs.com/trainers)

Aww. No suggestions but I empathize. We had a little dog that always peed when we came home. Our solution was to open the door and call her straight outside. I've met a worse dog that ran up to greet me, rolled over and peed all over herself. The owner was a little exasperated.
any recommendations for dog training classes in W-S? adopted a dog a couple of weeks ago, who needs some help getting rid of some bad habits! :) (he is not a puppy)
