Any recommendations for a realtor who can provide a LOT of guidance? We are looking for a house but have very little idea what we're looking for. Undecided on...

Definitely find a buyer's agent. It's different when you are coming from an apartment/out of state/don't have a home to sell. Any realtor will try to sell you a house, but a buyer's agent should only be working for you.

I cannot say enough good things about Ross Realtors.
https://rossrealtors.com/
They went as far west as Xenia (!) and as far east as Pataskala for me to help sell one home and buy a new one. I've bought with them twice now and the service and level of care have been amazing. More than a year after the sale, he was still checking in to make sure everything was what we wanted. There was a minor issue that had nothing to do with anything he did, but he still did the legwork to find someone to take care of it for us.
Also, Ross has been a realtor in central Ohio since the glaciers receded. If something needs done, he knows a half a dozen people who do it and do it well. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

We used [Lisa Halpert](https://lhalpert.homecentralrealty.com/?chome=1&odoor=) twice. Once for a buy and once for a sell. She was great for us. Especially with advice and explanations of things we didn't understand.

Many realtors are part-timers just looking for a commission. Look for the agent who specializes in the neighborhood you want to live in and the one who has bought and sold the **most homes** over a 10 year period. Don't hire a friend or relative.

I've only purchased one home and used Katie Davis. Katie, her sister Amy, and Emily were wonderful & walked me through everything from start to close. https://www.katiesellscolumbus.com/about-us/

Also a first-time homebuyer, and I would recommend to just start going to open houses all over town. My wife and I spent a few months over the summer/fall going to at least 2 open houses every weekend and it really helped us nail down where in Columbus and what we did/didn't want in a home. We met our realtor at an open house and she was incredibly helpful in answering all our questions, so we kept her card and called back now that we're seriously looking to put in offers.

Dewayne Lee Yates is who sold us our house! He is amazing at what he does. As a first time home buyer, we had no idea what to expect or do. He made the process so easy and informative. You can look him up on Facebook!

Cece Miller ([http://cece-miller.com](http://cece-miller.com)) is my recommendation. But find someone you enjoy talking to...it's gonna be a long process in this market.

Buy the school district for a starter home. Good luck on finding inventory.

Renee Young [https://www.reneeyounghomes.com/](https://www.reneeyounghomes.com/) She was our realtor when we relocated to Cbus last year (having never even visited) and she is the BEST. Knowledgeable, understanding, and good at offering perspective when you have no idea at what or where to look.

Cathy Miller https://www.coldwellbanker.com/Coldwell-Banker-Realty-_-Ohio-12621 c/Cathy-Miller-507091 a She is absolutely the best and has helped almost everyone in our family find their home.

[Jessica Ison](https://www.ritchierealtygroup.com/about/Jessica-Ison) is amazing. She’s a lifelong resident of Columbus, has impeccable taste and knew what I wanted in a house better than I did. Every house she took me to, she could tell in minutes what took me an hour to realize and she was always the first one to fearlessly plow into the basement when I was afraid

Looks like you’re getting some solid recommendations. I’d definitely suggest you interview at least 3, and if you’re on the fence interview 3 more.

buyershome.com Great buyers agents, I don’t know for sure if they do rentals. But they would be worth a call.

Good luck with it. Lease purchases probably aren't a thing in our market ATM because of low inventory in Columbus and the Columbus area. Your best bet would be to search for private renters that may want to sell in a few years. I saw a few driving around Gahanna the other morning. The downside is that a 2 bd ranch in Gahanna with one bath is 1900 a month.

Late to the party, but if you are looking at Dublin, there are actually a good number of houses for rent for a couple years, because of a small but significant number of Japanese people who move there to work for Honda. These people have a house for rent not too far from me: https://nihongo-de-columbus.com
Bexley real estate agents? Bexley realtors?

If you're buying, stick with an agent that wants to cater only to buyers. Co-op agents do not generally work in your best interest. https://buyershome.com/ is one to look at. Andrew Show is quite good, but anyone on that team. Before anything, lock in your timeframe and get pre-approved from lenders. You'll be thankful you did.. the market is moving insanely quick now and you've gotta jump on things almost yesterday..
