Looking for Chinese market and restaurant We will be making a trip to Cincinnati in a week or so. Can anyone recommend a Chinese supermarket and restaurant that are good...

CAM - Cincinnati Asia Market has a huge selection of Chinese food, along with most other Asian foods. Sichuan Bistro is somewhat authentic. People around here love Amerasia but it's without a doubt Americanized Chinese food, so if you're into that, you'll like it. If you want more traditional, Sichuan Bistro is a good option.

For a good restaurant Sichuan Chili is hard to beat. Highly recommended. http://www.sichuanchili.com/

I've never been, but a friend has told me about how authentic the [Chinese Imperial Inn](http://www.chineseimperialinn.com/) is up in Sharonville. They served large plates of vegetables and so forth, which I remember from my trips to Shanghai-area China. Though it looks like they're under new management by the signs on that webpage, and the online menu doesn't look like I'd expect.

Uncle Yip's (as you already have heard) and CAM which is pretty much next door (1 block over).

The best Authentic is hands down *Sichaun Bistro*. The only problem is that it's about a 15min+ drive from CAM/Uncle Yip. The inside can be a bit cramped but the food is worth it. I'd like to point out that for pretty good dim-sum and seafood, *Uncle Yips* satisfies with a roomier dining area. The owner there can be very generous if you talk her up. Full disclosure, I may be biased towards this place because of that. *Sichuan Chilli* is the new place that just opened in the strip mall adjacent to CAM/Hua Xin and it's also pretty good but a solid step down from *Sichuan Bistro.* As you can imagine, the interior is newer and a bit nicer and ask about the 10% discount for paying in cash. Honorable mentions go to *House of Sun* for their great brunch environment/menu. If you have any more nuanced questions or personal dish recommendations ask me here or PM me.

I've tried Uncle Yip's a few times and didn't think very highly of it. Their menu has a few different options than usual Chinese joints, but it just was very bland and kind of expensive for what you got.

I'd like to second CAM and Sichuan Bistro as good options. You should also try [Bon Chinese](http://www.bonchinese.com/), in Montgomery, and request their Chinese menu for some authentic dishes.

What kind/style of Chinese food are you looking for. Chinese food breaks off into many categories and restaurants in Cincinnati seem to specialize in 1-2 of those branches. Here are my picks:
* If szechuan style I would suggest Sichuan Chili or Sichuan Bistro. Both are pretty solid.
* Dim Sum - Saturday and Sunday is your best bet. I would try either Uncle Yip's (though new owner so it's a bit shaky at times), Grand Oriental (my back up while the new owner of UY was getting shit together), or Bon's Chinese (pretty dece).
* Chinese Seafood - Chinese Imperial Inn or Uncle Yip's.
* "Asian Wedding Style" Chinese - Oriental Wok Florence or Hyde Park (for some reason I like Florence better). The Wong's have been cooking in Cincinnati forever!
* Asian Market - CAM's is obvious but Saigon Market is a good choice too because it's location. Cam's is better but Saigon Market you can take them through for groceries but you can also take them through Findlay Market for everything else. Then stop by PLT for a good bowl of Pho. Any been to the new asian market on short vine? I haven't been able to check it out yet.
* note: Amerasia is also good but it's just ok for bringing older Chinese people. Food is good but I think the strength is the amazing beer selection. Place to go out with buddies but not optimal for in-laws. Though you can't claim it's not authentic because the owners and chefs are all OG Chinese cooks.

Come over to Northern Kentucky and visit Oriental Wok. It has a huge "special menu"!

Uncle Yip's went downhill I heard. If you're venturing into NKY, Park Hills' Szechuan Garden is great.
