We use Dr Shah in East Highland. It's not Redlands, but close. I also have a terrible fear of dentists! I used to have to take a sedative. He is so amazing! My teens love him too!! He has all updated equipment, can fill small cavities using a sandblaster instead of a drill, and rarely needs to give injections unless its heavy duty work.

It really depends on what kind of insurance you have. I am also extremely frightened of dentists. I went to Dr James Caley on Brookside. My insurance will not pay for sedation and the cost is like $850 each time. He prescribed Valium to take an hour before my appts and it was enough. After a couple of visits I no longer needed it because he was so gentle. He gets a lot of business from unions and because of them he is open on Saturdays a couple of times a month.

I have called several dentist in the area and they do not except medical..They want to charge an office visit of a minimum of $75 plus Xrays which are $170-$250 plus what ever extractions are depending on the difficulty of the extraction plus medicine etc etc etc !!! For emergency I called Redland Dental surgery center they except medical for extractions and Xrays but for the anethesia its $375 for 30 minutes medical will not pay even though they can try to submit a request for it . They have no openings til April but if I call at 7 am tue-thurs I may be able to get in same day for treatment.... UGH
