I went to NP Grant at Dr. Sean Thomas yesterday and she is very through. She had a whole page written down before we were done. She is so nice. Only there on Thursdays though

Randy Roark -agreed! I have not been that impressed with someone like that in a long time. Knows his medicine, great listener and does not rush you. HIGHLY recommend him.

Dawn McClure. Where is Dr. Tahkur now? I saw her for years at the rural clinic where randy Roark is but she left. I see dr. Salhotra now and am not happy at all. He wont listen to anythibg and just rushes through. Too many patients.

Dr Chahat Thakur and her husband Dr. Mahajan (her husband) are at 58471 29Palms hwy. Dr Mahajan rushes through appointments in 15 minutes or less and isn't interested in your questions after the first one. I have had him walk out of the exam room while I was in mid-sentance. I saw Dr. Thakur one day because I had an insane thirst and peeing every 30 minutes, polydipsia, which is the very first sign of diabetes. Without asking me any questions she gave me bladder spasm meds. Six days later my friend noticed I was drinking ice water constantly and being a diabetic he tested my blood sugar, 602, off to the ER for me. I would not recommend either of the as a primary care doctor for one more reason. The staff there have made several mistakes in my prescriptions both ordering them and renewing them. Sorry for the long post. Here's some kittens...

Randy Roark! What a nice guy!! I was so impressed with his professionalism yet compassionate and listens! The best bedside manner!

Grant is good but only there one day a week. I do like Dr. Mahajan he listens to my concerns and acts on them....as for Dr Thomas you will be lucky to even see him.. Yes it is his office but he is rarely there

I just joined Desert Oasis, what a pain..............AND Yucca Valley Medical behind Rite Aid, another pain.............Dr. Saboro is always late, hour last week than ran out after 15 minutes say I was taking up to much of his time, told me get another apt, after a week, went yesterday my apt. was 3 and finally got into exam room at 4 then Dr. came in 10 minutes later, i talked to several in waiting room same story. Still waiting for referrals from Oasis for specialist, foot Dr. been over a month.

In YV I can really recommend Dr. Fringer@Dr. Thomas' office. Very good bedside manner and very wise. He listens, too.

Any of them at the Yucca Valley Family Medical Center are top notch. It's in the same plaza as the Asian Buffet. As Quirina Van Der Veen said, Dr. Sobero, John Battin, or anyone else there. They also accept walk ins.

Dr Chahat Thakur, did my research first before making my first appt. Scored 4 out of 4 stars from her patients. I went to see her last week, she actually SAT down and talked to me as if I mattered. She spent 1/2 an hour with me. She was very thorough, kind, and knowledgeable.

I wasn't very impressed with Dr.Thakur. I had the opposite experience you did. I didn't get to spend 2 minutes with her before she gave me an order for blood work and told me to come back in 2 weeks. Then, that appointment was cancelled, and that's when I saw Randy.

You are required by law to have insurance. If you are low income, you may qualify for Medi-Cal. http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/medi-cal/Pages/DoYouQualifyForMedi-Cal.aspx You will pay a fine when you file your income taxes if you don't have insurance.

If you are low / no income you will qualify for Medi-cal. You can apply online (start at the Covered California website) or walk in to the county office behind Santana's in 29 Palms. Dr. Pablo Sobero in Yucca Valley accepts Medi-cal. Good luck!

Dr. Brar with Oasis. Hated waiting for Dr. Mahajan, sometime 2 hours for 15 minutes of his time.

I am currently seeing a PA at Hi Desert Medical Clinic in YV and I wait less than 10 minutes any time I go in. Today I was 40 minutes early as a previous appointment that should have been was not cancelled at another location, and they saw me anyway and I don't think I sat for 3 minutes. Very pleased!!

Dr. Brar is awesome!

Dr. Brarr is by far the best DR, I have seen in Yucca Valley since 1980 Dr, Mahajan thinks rather highly of himself, if U know what I mean!

We're Desert Oasis, and we had Dr. Jones-Poland, and now Dr. Hoang. Been happy with him since the change over. Never have to wait long, and he does not rush you and seems very thorough. No problems at all so far, and the staff is very helpful and progressive with the newer computer aids.
