  ok, a question... Is there anywhere to get free or greatly reduced spay/neuter vouchers in West Hempstead? ,and are there any trappers around that area... I heard from someone from my old job,(I'm on a disability retirement) that someone she works with was asking for help for her mom... It seems someone next door to the mom threw their cat out when the wife died (same old rotten story), and she has been giving it food...Well it apparently was never spayed and has been bringing around 4 kittens they are guessing are about 2 months old. I was told the woman would continue to feed them, but is very concerned about it becoming out of hand if they aren't fixed. From what I was told they have limited means, and are older people. I was asked to find out info for them about low cost or free spay/neuter and if there were any trappers out in that area. Thank you

  It is free. Cats must be in traps. Check the town of Hempstead's website for details or call the shelter. 516 785- 5220.

  island park is part of TOH- TOH has free TNR program- no appts needed tues, wed, thurs- need drivers license as proof of residency- drop off 2-4:30 mon, tues wed and 7:30 am to 9 am tues, wed thru- you can also schedule appts mon & frid-(hard to get) 516-785-5220 or email sreichert@TOHmail.org-you can also get traps for $80 refundable per trap

  Hi all I came home to a situation this family of feral cats we have been taking care of for a bout a year the two black ones and one of the tiger are just about a-year-old the rest of them are under three. Next door they live in the garage. The house is abandoned and burnt and gutted they had been in the garage before the house burn down the family that used to live there took care of them. On the other side I have a neighbor who despises them I'm convinced she beats them if she finds them in her yard the other day the larger tiger came on my porch limping and wouldn't let me touch him which he usually does he's better now but my neighbor has made it very clear that she's not happy we're feeding them or tending to them at all I am worried she is going to do something nasty to these cats she caught my husband feeding them tonight on the porch and glared at him if looks could kill he would be dead I need help they are all fixed except one female. I live in Elmont by the Belmont racetrack anyone can help please let me know or if someone has a home for them for I am worried the lady next-door is going to hurt them. And if she does not it is only a matter of time before the garage they have been living in is sold to a new homeowner

  call TOH 516-785-5220 and get for $80 refundable, a trap, and get the female that is fertile- she will (or has) have Ks before the summer if not spayed- the TOH will accept cats 2-5 pm m, t, w, and 7:30 to 9 am t, w and thurs. They will do surgery and 2 days later you pick up and release back to the yard-
