Jean W. replied:
Gastroenterology Assocociates, which includes Dr. Day and Loudon will continue seeing patients and performing tests at Shelby but will be using Grandview if you are admitted. They have a sign in their office.
I'm looking for a gastroenterologist in or around the Bham area. I don't mind going to Bham if they are worth it, I have several doctors up that way.
Jody M. replied:
Dr. Timothy Denton at Gastroenterology Associates is wonderful. My husband has Crohn's and has used him for the past 12 ish years. His office is connected to Brookwood Hospital.
Susan B. replied:
Dr. Day at Shelby .
Lynn P. replied:

Christina B. replied:
I have Crohn's (have had it most of my life). I give Dr. Denton credit for saving my life (with God's help of course (smile)).
Marta H. replied:
I recommend Southeast Gastro (formerly Gastroenterology Associates). They have several offices: Shelby, Grandview, Brookwood, and St. Vincent's East. There are several good doctors in the practice. My favorites are at SVE, not sure if you want to drive that far.
Erin W. replied:
Southeast Gastro!! Awesome Doctors!! Awesome staff!! Office is located in the Physicians Center by Shelby Hospital

Judy O. replied:
Dr John day is awesome
Carol K. replied:
I just saw Dr Louden at Shelby. He's very nice and didn't hurt me lol
Dale R. replied:
Be careful of the cost. The Shelby office sent me to Grandview office. Between the anesthesiologist, Dr., and the patholgist and the hospital, my deductible was well over $1,000.00 just for a colonoscopy. Do your homework with your Dr. and your insurance company.
Melissa P. replied:
Dr. Day....I guess depends on insurance buy it didn't pay anything for colonoscopy and endoscopy that he did last year.
Lauren J. replied:
Loudon or Marks like everyone else! Dr. Marks is truly an amazing man.

Janet G. replied:
Dr. Marks is so caring and compassionate. A wonderful doctor with a wonderful staff
Okay, I need opinions and advice please on gastroenterology doctors. Anyone have good or bad experiences with Gastroenterology Associates here in Alabaster? Or Bham...
Erin L. replied:
I've been driving to Trussville for 9 years to see Dr. Miles Gresham with Gastroenterology Associates over there. He's a good doctor but doesn't talk much. Office visits are usually pretty quick. I'd like to know if there are others more close by that people recommend.
Kaye H. replied:
I use Dr Day and he is great!!
Jennifer R. replied:
I JUST used Dr. Shaver in Homewood and I absolutely LOVED him. I felt like he listened to me and didn't make me feel stupid with anything I said. Also, when seeing a tummy dr, sometimes you have to talk about unpleasant things. He didn't make me feel awkward at all. I can't say enough.
Elizabeth R. replied:
Dr Landy in Homewood is really pleasant
Cheryl H. replied:
I was happier with Gastro Assoc here in Alabaster than Bham Gastro. I also wasn't a fan of the doctor I saw at St Vincents (lots of trips to this kind of doctor for me!) but it was so long ago I can't recall her name off the top of my head. I saw Dr Rubery here in Alabaster and I liked him a lot. He was the most helpful overall.
Denise F. replied:
I used Dr Day and Dr Wood, very good.
Tonya S. replied:
My Husband just had a procedure with Dr Brunson@Gastroenterology Asst. We were happy with their services.
Sharon R. replied:

Margaret B. replied:
Yes. Dr. Marks. Excellent
Donna L. replied:
Dr. Marks sent me to a Dr that did not do the surgery I needed. That was after weeks of being told he was talking with my insurance carrier getting permission to see this Dr. She was not on their list. When I went for this sacred appointment, I sat down, an intern looked at my file and said Dr. Does not do this surgery. On the way home Dr. Marks called me said he was looking into who did the surgery, I told him to forget it, I would find my own.
