Gooding and Conti.......had a personality clash with Hancock (very professional. Just needed someone more like Dr. Simmons, who is male but whom I absolutely love to death for his personality and why he puts patients at complete ease.) but it could have been I was hormone crazy being preggers.

Dr. Tameka Roberts.. Her entire staff is female and the other Dr in her practice is as well. She's at Brookwood women's center.. Love her and her staff..

Raquel Ec, the other doctor is Dr Cynthia Jones. =) She's my doc, and I love her and her staff...they are ALL wonderful! And they ARE accepting new patients.

My girls use Dr. Conti and absolutely love her.

I've heard bad things about Dr Conti at Shelby. She tried to prescribe an epileptic person something that would negatively react with her epilepsy meds...I would recommend Dr Hancock or Dr Arbuckle. They are both at uab, but both are wonderful! Very sweet, will take their time answering questions and will even come back in the room if you think of any more. Never rushes you, and very very good in bad situations.!!

I personally hate Shelby so I'm going to say Dr. Campbell at Brookwood since you want a female (to give you a variety of choices). Obgyn South is wonderful.

I always preferred a woman dr. in that dept. But once I moved here I saw Dr. Z (Zaharrias) at Shelby OB-GYN in Alabaster. I wouldn't change him for anything !!! They can do the yearly & mammo same day/same office. I am very close to your age & feel like i'm almost to menopause too !

Kim.....I am in the same boat. My GYN retired and I am wanting the same thing.....just a GYN.....not OB/GYN. Will never need a OB and don't want to be put on hold because they need to go make a delivery. I am going to give Dr. Head at Shelby OB/GYN a try.....we will see:-/

I love the doctors at OBGYN South. I see Dr. Adcock (a guy), but they have a female doctor in the group that I have heard great things about.

I usually use Dr Barron at Brookwood. She is AWESOME! I delivered there but no more babies and i need someone closer. I dont mind a male but prefer female because she understood more of what i was dealing with.

Greg Banks has been my doctor for 17 years and has seen me through a lot of good and bad times. ❤️ not sure what all he does now in the OB world.
