I need some serious help here. Does anyone have any experience with acupuncture or hypnosis here in Albuquerque. I'm looking to quit smoking for good this time.

I'd also recommend giving Quit Smoking Support With Your AS3 Friends (a FB group) a try for group support. I quit 16+ years ago with their original Usenet Alt Support Stop Smoking group along with nicotine replacement therapy using the NicodermCQ patch and a lot of reading about cigarette addiction and how/why we end up addicted. They also have a separate web based http://www.as3-web.org/as3/ as well. There is no charge, not a penny. And if you blow a quit and cave in, they'll reassure you and encourage you to get back on the quit wagon. They're great folks. (Oh and I quit after smoking for 30 years) Sixteen years, two months, two weeks, two days, 5 hours, 22 minutes and 1 second. 295961 cigarettes not smoked, saving $42,914.37.

Go for it Mike!!! I tried to quit 6 times from the time I was 18-31 years old. After a lengthy hospital stay and surgery (I had a cigarette in my room just before they wheeled me out), I pretty out of it for a couple of days and used that opportunity to get past the actual addiction of the nicotine. After that I had to deal with the physiological part of it. After I got home, I did attend a group hypnosis class that helped me relax. When I got my strength back, I went back to running and didn't drink or visit anyone that smoked. I thank The Lord for that surgery back in 1980, that saved my life in more ways than one! Seek The Lord for strength, flush any cigarettes down the toilet and take up exercise. Believe me, if I can do it I'm totally convinced you can too!! Keep us posted!

Dr. Matthew Sanchez, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, is one of the best. He has had lots of additional training, even in China. I have never had a smoking problem but he is very good. His telephone no. is 688-0587. He will be able to tell you if he can help you quit smoking.

The yellow pages have quite a few acupuncture / Eastern Medicine practitioners and / or clinics listed so that's an easy look-up but I just wanted to mention that it absolutely works. My brother quit smoking with the help of acupuncture. You don't feel the insertion of the tiny needle because they know exactly where to put it where there are no large nerve endings. For smoking cessation it's below and behind an ear. Every time he got a craving for a cigarette he just pushed the spot where the needle was and the craving would instantly disappear. It's amazing how it works. Good luck!
