I was really happy with Amanda Ritchey. My dress ended up being a few hundred above my price range, so they gave me a sash I was considering for free. I went to their Fallston store, but in the two years I've been married, I think they opened one in Parkville, too. http://amandaritcheybridalbeauty.com

I got my dress at Venus Bridal Collection in Ellicott City, had a great experience!

M'Jourdelle in Towson is good people--I bought a crinoline for a costume there not that long ago and they were very helpful. It's a small store, but it's probably worth stopping by.

I had two friends who had great experiences with Gamberdellas and Garnish Boutique, both in Towson.

My wife went to Alfred Angelo (http://www.alfredangelo.com/) for her dress. It's down in Glen Burnie.

I ended up finding a sample dress for $300 at Garnish. The service was great. The dresses were all beautiful, but they were all on higher end. Venus in Ellicott City was really great. The service was wonderful, and the selection was huge. I would love to have given them business.

If your friend is a size 0-6 I have a really nice dress that I didn't wear to my wedding that I've been trying to sell cheaply ($250!)

I got my dress from Lily's Bridal (Halethorpe/Arbutus area). They were very helpful and had a good selection. A few problems getting them to call me with updates on the dresses, but overall it was a good experience and the prices were great. There is a seamstress in the suite next door called Ann's Alterations. She is amazing and affordable... alterations for both my wedding gown and my mom's dress were less than $200 total.
