Hi, I am going in holiday from the UK to California (San Francisco down via LA to San Diego). Can anybody suggest good fabric/quilt shops/museums/exhibitions etc for me...
Stephanie A. replied:
I am just returning from San Diego. I loved Rosie's Calico Cupboard. I know Eleanor Burns has a shop in that area but I was limited by public transportation .

Back Porch Fabric in Pacific Grove. The Nimble Thimble Quilt Shop in Gilroy. The Cotton Ball in Morro Bay has themed fabric that I think is fantastic. I agree with Beth, Roxannes in Carpenteria is a bright fun shop. I enjoy Quilt in a Day in San Marcus. Who knows, you can time it right and be able to meet or see Eleanor Burns taping a show! She is so enjoyable to watch in person!:) Have a nice trip.

Rosie’s Calico Cupboard is a must see. I always tell people “If Rosie’s doesn’t have it, you don’t need it!”.

Here is a link to the 2017 map from the Row by Row experience. This is a world wide shop hop. Since the shops pay to participate, not ALL shops are listed, but it is a handy tool because it will give you addresses and phone numbers. But, always call ahead before driving to a shop. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1 wqUG4GN87OJPiKfn0_Gn0 jntBXk&ll=46.670812326466184%2C-73.09769289999997&z=2
