I need some advice. Sabine has a corn on her left hind paw. She has had this for a few months. Vet gave her Gabapentin. I tried that for three days and it did nothing. I...

Surgery is probably best but if you need some additional information, this is where most were referring to https://www.facebook.com/groups/Greyhoundswithcorns/
Casey G. replied:
Here are two suggestions. If you have a Dremel tool, you can hollow out the corn just below the surface of the pad using an engraving bit. This needs to be done about every three days, because the corn fills in really fast. You don't need to go very deep, and it may be a few days before you see any improvement. The other suggestion is to use a Therapaws boot. You can get them from therapaws.com, but seniorpetproducts.com also has them, and they seem more responsive.
Casey G. replied:
Sorry, it is therapaw.com, not therapaws.com.

Auburn vet school has had success implanting silicon pouches. But, I think that's quite involved.
This is an emergency. Does anyone know of a low income vet. I have no money and my dog is bleeding. Seems to be coming from her rectum
Thanks

TLC Pet Hospital is open today but I'm not sure about pricing:/

Sunrise Veterinary Clinic in Rio Rancho, even if you call and go in now as an emergency visit (which you should, rectal bleeding can be bad) the cost is very affordable and they can work with you on payments.

You can try Banfield Clinics at petsmart. They participate in the Banfield Charitable Trust and may be able to help.

Amy, I have a 22 yr old mare that has some arthritis issues but she might fit the bill. I'm not wanting to sell her but I would be willing to lease her to you instead because when she gets to the point she can't hack it anymore, I would want her back home. I've owned her since she was 4 and she has a permanent home with me. 307-631-1716

I use Lomas Vet Clinic. Dr. Flowers is awesome and everything I've heeded has been reasonably priced, but this is a bit far from you (Downtown/Old Town area).

we use [4 Paws Pet Hospital](https://www.4 pawspethospital.com). TBH I don't really know the rate to visit, it doesn't seem absurd to me though. We also have a Care Credit care strictly for vet visits and they take Care Credit. The clinic is off Holly, by the Wecks and Panera off Paseo and Louisiana. We have not had a bad experience there yet in over the 2 years we've been taking our puppo there. My sister uses TLC off Wyoming and Constitution (I think). She likes it.

I take all my furry friends to Sandia Animal Clinic on Moon and Menaul, it's a small clinic with a very dedicated staff. They're super reasonable price wise and very caring. My pup had a large tumor removed in December and everything start to finish, including xrays, blood panels, medicines and the actual surgery was only 450$. Both the doctors there are amazing!

I use Good Shepherd Animal Clinic on Menaul. They are always nice. I’m not sure how they rate comparatively on price because I’ve never had another vet, but they are always pleasant.

Aztec Animal Clinic. Great service and friendly. They even called for a follow-up when I had to take my dog to the emergency vet (route 66 vet clinic) over labor day.

Desert Hills Animal Clinic on Wyoming by San Antonio/Harper. Dr. Vigil-Smith is the most caring vet I have ever been too. Both of my dogs are reactive and stress at the vet, but she always remembers them and takes time with them before she starts an exam so they are at ease.

When my dog had a UTI I went to St. Francis. Price was fine, they are really nice. Also, there are these cranberry chews for UTI infections you can get at pet co. These helped in the long run

I recommend VCA if you’re ok with paying way more than average. They’ve taken great care of our dogs but we’re looking for a new, more affordable vet now.

I suggest NOT going to ABQ Petcare. Poor service, watched them drag my dog by her leash once, overcharged once, almost gave wrong vaccine before I intervened.
