Does anyone know where the Corby Bakery was in Alexandria?

Thanks Anna, my husband was trying to find out where it was, his great grandfather was a baker there. I think he said the later it became The Alexandria Bakery.

Thanks. Haven't been to the Arlington store in many, many years. The Belle View shop was the best. Hasn't been the same under newest ownership, but I am sorry to hear they are another favorite of the past that is not around anymore.

There are many great places all over especially in Old a Town - Old Townes Deli (not like NY) but the best food around. Excellent tabbouleh, fattoush, etc. Mediterranean Bakery has many great things as far as canned goods, wonderful spices, bakery items, olives, cheeses, etc.

Chez Andre is good for French food. For crabs, I'd suggest going out to Capt. Pell's in Fairfax. Oh-and Al's for the best steak and cheese sub in Alexandria.

I live in the East, but work in the Northwest. I'm between sites and at that end of the tunnel Bella Vista Hotel has been blacklisted for coffee so now I go to the Virgin Active Cafe at Norwest - always good without the attitude about drinking soy!
