First of all, Czech kolache is nothing like the texas czech kolache. The american ones are remotely inspired by The Czech ones but have different recipe and fillings. But our sweet pastry is good. If want a regular stuff we eat on our way to work, there is a small bakery store at almost every subway station and a shelf in every grocery store. But these are not the quality our grandmas used to make. I am not sure what to recommend. Farmers’ market. You will live close to Naplavka so go there on Saturday morning. Antoninovo pekarstvi is close to the wonderful church at Jiriho z Podebrad sq and on the way to the TV tower you should see anyway.

Hi Sharon Clark Peska - just realized you said it doesn't have to be kosher. We Plan - You Party has used Buttercup Baking Co. for a bunch of our events that do not have to be kosher... https://www.facebook.com/ButtercupBakingCompany - Karen Pitman is the owner.
