Rhonda D. replied:
Oh - you're right in that case. Then you have to check out Tuckaway-Innsbrook! They have locations all around the city and they are fantastic! They even have drop-in care! You will LOVE them! http://richmondmom.com/2013/02/19/drop-in-last-minute-child-care-when-you-need-it/

Need to find a daycare or nanny for 9 months to a year in the Alexandria area. Any recommendations?
Jessica S. replied:
I have had a couple of friends use Care.com to find a nanny. We looked at it (and did one interview) but ultimately decided to go with daycare for now.
Cassie N. replied:
We are waiting to get on Jbab daycare but in meantime the daycare facilities I've looked at in alexandria aren't worth what they charge. Will def take a look at the care.com since I'm leaning towards nanny.

Caroline goes to Dr. Amoroso at Carilion Pediatrics on Postal Drive (Cave Spring area), we were going to usr Physicians to Children but they required she be fully vaxed and we spread them out. She goes to Lakeside Baptist Daycare...love it, so does sh e! She started at Kidz Connection (Fellowship Community Church) and we loved it there, but it was time to move on and she has learned SO much in the 6 months she has been there. My animals go Roanoke Animal Hospital, but it's on Franklin road. We are going to be switching soon to someone closer. Dr. DeRolf has been recommended.
Brad T. replied:
Dr Delaney at Lewis Gale is great! He sees all three of my kids and is young so will be around for a long time. I would recommend Dr. Wilson at Braden animal hospital she is great with our bull dog and took great of my moms cat when he was passing awa y & for 16 years before. As for child care we use children's discovery center on Peters Creek Road. Our son went there for 5 years and now our twins daughters go there. Good luck on the move!!!!
Allie K. replied:
We are big fans of Dr. Delaney at Lewis Gale. He is a no nonsense kind of doctor. We use Dr. Bryant at Salem Animal Hospital for our two dogs, and my parents have used them forever, and we've had nothing but good experiences with the whole staff.
Alicia B. replied:
Physicians to children they are all awesome my kids see Dr Nur and he is great!! Furry friends is awesome as a vet and they are mobile except on either Tuesday or Wednesday then they are in office appts on one of those days smile emoticon
Jodi G. replied:
Dr Delaney at Lewis Gale! I could go on and on about all the things he figured out other drs missed and he has called me personally vs his nurse at times!!
Amy F. replied:
Dr. Bolden at Lewis Gale is really nice. My son's doctor is Dr. Beasley but he is so popular that we always end up seeing Dr. Bolden. I work at Old Dominion Vet which is in Troutville just outside of Roanoke. If you want something closer to salem I wou ld go with Dr. DeRolf who is over near Sheetz in salem or Salem Animal Hospital which is closer to Beverly heights neighborhood in the western part of salem. Dr. Taylor is a great family physician located over on Boulevard down from Oakeys funeral home.
