If you're open to trying a chiropractor, I recommend Carmen Goulet in the Heights. For a massage, try my friend Jennifer Grant at Integrated Healing Massage. Or do both! Hope you feel better. http://www.integratedhealingtouch.com/

Physical therapist recommendations In South Arlington looking for a good PT for a slumping right shoulder I'd like to try to fix before more permanent damage occurs....
Cat_Entropy replied:
I went to Jackson Clinics in Old Town Alexandria for a shoulder issue. They were great; highly recommend them. They have offices all over the area, so there may be one closer to you as well.
vtron replied:
Check out Pro Motion in McLean. They're out or network, so you'll have to submit to insurance on your own. But the appointments are a full hour, one-on-one with the therapist.
Didijustshtmypants replied:
I wouldn't recommend Jackson Clinics to anyone:( Check out Solutions Physical Therapy in Alexandria, by King Street metro maybe?
tetrine replied:
INOVA Orthopedics and PT in Ballston. There's a big INOVA complex in the building. Their Ortho surgeon did a meniscus repair (not the simple quick snip meniscus removal) which required several months of PT afterwards. I saw Raquel, she was fantastic and kept me upbeat when I was feeling hopelessly down about being fairly immobilized, crutches, etc for such a long time... highly recommend. My boyfriend ended up going to see her for back issues as well and had a great experience. Great front office staff, validated parking, and no billing problems either (after a couple major surgeries and hospitalizations, that became an important factor in deciding where to go). Good luck.

I went to Dr. Nirschel for my knee and used his office's affiliated PT (on George Mason Drive). Loved them. http://www.vasportsmedicine.com/

I went to Mt Auburn PT on Concord Ave in Belmont for my degenerative disk issues (spasms all night and incredible lower back pain every morning). I was treated by the head of the PT department there (I think her name is Camille) and 5 simple PT exercises that take me about 10 minutes/day have eliminated almost all my back pain. I still sometimes have an acute episode but do not have chronic back pain. (hint: a lot of back pain is also due to inflexiblity in the hip muscles). You'll actually be working on building core strength, depending on your diagnosis. Good luck!
Any physical therapy clinics in Arlington or nearby that are easily accessible by public transportation?
They must ust accept Blue Cross insurance.
Thanks. We know of...

Cathy Duddy Mt Auburn PT at 725 Concord Ave. worked with her after rotator cuff surgery and foot joint fusion. She got me back to normal quickly.
Seeking recs for local physical therapists. I'm sure my physician will also have ideas but a place with happy clients, flexible hours and near bus routes helps
Maja F. replied:
Boris was happy with https://baystatept.com/locations/arlington, he managed to have early morning and late afternoon-evening appointments. He doesn't remember who his therapist was though.
Mary M. replied:
The Kennedy Brothers. One of their locations is in Watertown inside the Boston Sports Club. My doctor, who is the head of his department in a big Boston hospital, highly recommended them. I concur.
Can anyone recommend a good physical therapy practice in Arlington or Cambridge? I have a prescription for PT for lower back issues. Thanks!
Janette L. replied:
I actually highly recommend the Spaulding Rehab in Medford. It's right off Mystic Valley Pkwy. I had Diane as I was being diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. She was amazing with what she could. With the same symptoms I went to Bay State PT on Mill St, where I had been once before and both times I just felt like I could be doing better elsewhere.
Heidi C. replied:
Thanks very much Janette 'Netty' Langill. I went to Mt. Auburn PT in Cambridge, and everything they did I felt I could do myself at home without assistance, and without the $25 co-pay. Hence my search for a new PT...
Cheryl S. replied:
Boston Back Rebab in Winchester center is amazing. Fay Manii is a PT who specializes in back issues. I have been to many PT's and she is by far the best I have come across.
Clairejanice M. replied:
I went to Mt Auburn PT, on Concord Ave in Cambridge. ( Cathy Duddy) Also HVMA in Davis Sq Somerville is the other one I went to!
Mary N. replied:
Not in Arlington or Cambridge - but worth the effort to go to Winchester Orthopedics - and see Terry O'Neil. I was looking at potential back surgery last year, but, working with Terry for 4 months along with Dtr Potter (Chiropractor in Arlington) and acupuncturist Robin Sessa (also in Arlington...same building ast Dtr Potter) I am absolutely pain free today....these three are wonderful and are my "tribe" that have continue to keep me healthy!
Sharona J. replied:
Mike Pellegrino who works out of Mass BJJ in East Arlington - especially great for sporty/active folks
Karin T. replied:
I see Scott Ludwig on the Belmont/Cambridge line - originally went for lower back issues. Not a glitzy practice but I LOVE him and his wife (she is the office manager). He is amazing!!
Janette L. replied:
Mt Auburn is who first connected me with Bay State. I pretty much avoid Mt Auburn in general at this point. I had been connected with a great Physiatrist at Spaulding Cambridge, Dr Binder. I can't say enough good things about him. He then connected me with one of the top 2 Cardiovascular surgeons in the country at MGH who is a top expert in TOS. I just had surgery almost 3 weeks ago. 3 more weeks until my post-op and I can't finally look forward to PT.
Polly K. replied:
Outback Physical Therapy in Somerville is great and a quick ride from Arlington!!

Susan R. replied:
I think you will need a referral/diagnosis/treatment plan from a physician for PT to have insurance cover it in Mass. In other words, there has to be a treatable condition that will improve with PT, rather than just a need for relaxation. For non-insurance covered massage, Waterhouse Wellness is great.
Hi everyone - looking for some local physical therapy recommendations for lower back pain. Thanks!
Dana R. replied:
I go to Patient First Chiropractic & PT in Waltham. If you can get an appointment with Ryan, I would highly recommend seeing him. Dr. Baroo is also an amazing chiropractor and they work together to try to get you on the right path (I saw them both for lower back & hip pain).
Hi everyone: I am looking for physical therapist recommendations. Would be nice if they are in Arlington and offer hours on Saturdays... Thanks for your advice!

Mike Pellegrino the owner at Mass BJJ is also a great physical therapist and is located right at the end of Mass Ave across from Menotomy Grill
Can anyone recommend a local physical therapist who specializes in hands and wrists? Thanks!
Susan R. replied:
Spaulding Medford has great PTs. For hands, I think services are often provided by an Occupational Therapist rather than a Physical Therapist, but Spaulding has plenty of both!
