I second Gilles Grove. Moved here from Ottawa just over 2 years ago and have been bringing our 16 year cat there. Dr. Scott and staff are great. The do follow up calls and emails. They take the time to listen to a crazy cat mom, haha. Just had to bring my kitty in this Wednesday for something, they got us in right away, and I have gotten a call yesterday morning and this morning checking in on her. http://www.gilliesgrovevet.ca

Karen S. replied:
I use Renfrew Animal Hospital. Dr. Mark Van Campen is my usual Vet, though all the Vets there are great. I have 2 cats, and a Golden Retriever that challenges us medically quite often. They have a brand new facility which is an improvement over their older, smaller place. I have also used Pinnacle Animal Hospital, and they are very good....but because they didn’t have after hours Emergency on call, I switched to Renfrew.

Gillies Grove for a vet which is located right in town and all you have to do is give them your previous vet's name and info and they will get your records. You will need that info to get dog tags for your pups also.

Currently no doctors taking new patients, but if you go to https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-family-doctor-or-nurse-practitioner, I think that's how you can find one :)

Caitlin, I hope you and your fiance enjoy our town. The town's website (Arnprior.ca) has lots of useful information including contacts, phone numbers, resources, and this page specifically for new residents http://arnprior.ca/live/moving-to-arnprior/info-for-new-resident/
Any suggestions for a vet that deals with extra large breeds (200lbs +). We live in a White Lake, so Almonte, Renfrew, Arnprior are all fine.

As Shelly O'Hara stated above WCAH do go above and beyond and have very good hours of service. I rescue Golden Retrievers and all my rescues over the past years have been vetted there. They have helped w/ Goldens who were suffering from poor health to trauma from abuse and wide range of other canine issues requiring vet intervention.
Kelly L. replied:
Valley Vet in Carleton Place, Mississippi Mills in Almonte and Pinnacle in Renfrew. They're the only offices I use.
Is there an emergency vet here in town or does anybody know where the might be one close by? My sister needs to get her pup to an emergency vet a.s.a.p
