Just keep in mind that good furniture like what you're asking about is going to be pricey. I've been pretty pleased with [Skandinavia.](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Skandinavia+Contemporary+Interiors/@30.3626422,-97.7427279,17 z/data=!3 m1!4 b1!4 m5!3 m4!1 s0 x8644 cba0 c9 e3 ece5:0 xceb3 f82 e40 b16 b7 e!8 m2!3 d30.3626422!4 d-97.7405339?hl=en) One of the very few places in town that sells Copeland furniture.
if buying leather furniture, avoid [bonded leather](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather).

I haven't found many but Louis Shanks is pretty good quality, for the most part. Seems like lots of crappy furniture stores around this town. And there is no "design district" like other metros have.

Any recommendations on local furniture stores? I'm looking for a fancy new office desk and I'd like to support something local (and preferably cheaper)

This place is pretty cool also... http://austinfurnituredepot.com/ There a similar one on South Lamar that I always enjoy visiting also.

I was pretty happy with Austin furniture warehouse, off furniture row, burnet and 183 I think.

Uptown Modern for vintage furniture.

I'm pretty happy with what I got at http://coxofficefurniture.com/ (desk, lateral files, and cabinet). They have a mix of new and used, and the guy there spent a lot of time helping me figure out what I wanted. A lot of funky local places in that same minimall, and the cake store there in particular is amazing.
I'm looking for an reception desk if anyone knows where I can get a nice one please let me know I've already looked at Google n almost every furniture store best buy...

Where can I find inexpensive patio furniture that's not big store; prefer local. Anywhere from Austin, Buda, Round Rock, San Marcos.

craigslist
chaosintejas replied:
not to be a downer but I don't think your search will be too fruitful: generally speaking, "locals" goods and services tend to cost more because their costs are higher to begin with. Handmade stuff on craigslist will ding you a pretty penny (it will also look amazing and of course you'll have supported the community), unless you can get very lucky and buy it second-hand via CL. You could case local flea markets for some inexpensive patio furniture and even if it did at some point come from a big chain at least you're recycling? It's another idea anyway. Or garage sales--support your community through recycling/reclaiming/reuse!

You can get a wooden cable spool to turn into a table at Pedernales Electric Coop down in Kyle. I'm pretty sure they just give them away.

patio furniture is just expensive in general for what you get... craigslist if you look around maybe
Frodo79 replied:
Not local, but the Tuesday Morning, 7301 Burnett has had good selection and rock bottom prices in the past.
drd001 replied:
I built my own (two Adirondack chairs, chaise, two tables and a glider). Not sure I saved any money but using cedar and cypress they have lasted much longer than big box store furniture.

If you search etsy for outdoor patio furniture then sort for seller location Austin you'll find a few local craftsmen selling odd patio furniture. Perhaps one of them has a larger selection than they don't exhibit on that site. If you're unfamiliar with etsy, you can contact the sellers through the site. link: http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade/furniture?q=outdoor+patio+furniture&ship_to=US&ref=auto2&explicit_scope=1&locationQuery=4671654

Not sure what they have in the way of patio furniture, but Simply Furniture on south congress and woodward has modern, reasonably priced stuff, and is local.
tfresca replied:
Yeah local and inexpensive don't go together. Garden Ridge lets you put together a set at a recent rate.
AggieATX replied:
Try Ace Mart. They are based out of San Antonio and are a Texas chain. If you're looking for outdoor tables and chairs, they'll have them.
