Los Molcajetes (Brundage and about A street) for awesome Mexican food with large portion and decent price

Sandrini's. 1918 Eye St. Try the Italian sausage bread and the Basque sausage and penne.
FishLampClock replied:
Sub par Italian try Rosas. For better Italian try Josephs. For cheap great Mexican you can try chips and salsa. High end Mexican try red pepper. There are good Indian places like joika. If you wanna spend good money on Indian try the Taj mahal.

Burgers: Juicy Burger on 23 rd and L Mexican: Los Tucanes on Niles and Baker Italian: Frugattis on Coffee and Truxtun Pizza: Tony's on Mt. Vernon across from Bakersfield College ( there's a couple other locations around town but that one is the best) Chinese: Bill Lee's on 18 th and M Japanese: Ichiban on Oswell and Mall View Sandwiches: Martin's Meats on 21 st and Q
Bonesnap replied:
Woolgrowers, or Benji's. If you're in Bakersfield and you're not eating Basque, you're doing it wrong.
priskiller replied:
Bill Lees is a freaking disgrace against Chinese food. For the life of me idk how people go on and on about this place. Don't waste your money there!! Moo creamery is probably my favorite place in town. The quality and attention to detail that goes into their products totally justifies the price. Burgers, salads, ice cream, brunch, it's all amazing! Bakersfield boasts some of the best indian food around. Zaika and Cafe India never disappoint. Pho Vy serves my favorite meal of all time. I've had pho all around the state and this place is probably the best. And it's cheap!

The Pita House on Ming!! I'm pretty sure it's locally owned, it is over by Cheers near Ross but their food is SO much better than Flame and Skewers. It's Mediterranean/Greek food. I tried to find a website but just saw a bunch of reviews. Address is: 3825 Mining Ave, B, Bakersfield, CA 93309

If you like Chinese, check out Shangri La on the corner of Ming and Ashe. Really delicious lunch specials that come with soup and steamed or fried rice for under 8 bucks.
ruggedeman replied:
Jay's place! Chicken and Waffles! Kool aid! Legit.
vicariouslyliving replied:
You should check out Casa Burger on Ming and Chester. Best burger place in town and they got new Monster Fries better than Animal Style fries
lesliespeaker replied:
Red Pepper on Oswell has superb mexican food. Also, City Sandwich Co on Mt. Vernon and College. Bakersfield has soooo much good food I'm too lazy to type all the places.

If by "very nice", you mean something you can do like for a fancy date night, I'd recommend the Belvedere Room at The Padre, Steak and Grape, or Krush.

Mama Roomba is my current favorite, or Lengthwise if you want some ale and grub.
Any recommendations for a nice restaurant in Boston? Fancy but not Proposal-fancy. For a grad school graduation.

Need some recommendations for restaurants in Portland, OR for Christmas Eve & Christmas night. Suggestions please??
Trish W. replied:
Veritable Quandry for lunch or brunch, pok pok, little bird
Catt W. replied:
Little Bird Bistro would be perhaps my first choice but both they and their sister Le Pigeon will be on holiday break. Strongly recommend Ned Ludd, they're doing a Dickens thing and you can bet they'll do it well: get reservation NOW! Noble Rot for the view, Tasty N Alder (foie gras!) or Ava Gene's (Italian - Feats of the Seven Fishes) for Christmas Eve. The delightful Cocotte is open Christmas Day.
Brook L. replied:
I've heard great things about Little Bird, but I spent my "birthday dinner credits" at tres casual Lardo, because I couldn't stop dreaming of my lunch the day prior. If that says anything!
Chris W. replied:
Um you better be spending time with ME!!!! 5038042298

Food question please. I googled it and still don't get it. Does anyone know what red cheese is? One local
restaurant shows it on their menu w/ a few dishes.
