Amy, DR Edward McFarland is EXCELLENT but I know his specialty is shoulders. I do physical therapy for many orthopedic surgeons. Since I am a traveling therapist I have worked with may of these doctors. If it was my knee I would go where Natalie went, to Dr. Verklinhttp://osmc.net/directory/people/show/robert-verklin-jr

Actually...I have an amazing ortho guy out of Montgomery county...Dr. Kevin McMahon...let me know if u want his info...he is AMAZING!!!
Lu Ruland from Anne Arundel Orthopedic did my knee & both of Lacey's surgeries. I haven't had an issues with mine since I got it done.
Natalie J. replied:
Dr Robert Verklin is the best knee guy around. He's done my knee twice and is about to operate on my other one. Stupid sports! My ACL he did in 2000 is still perfect.

OSMC at AAMC ask for Dr. Harries
Pascal P. replied:
That sucks, sorry it happened. Dr Marc Hungerford at Mercy has a really good reputation. Avoid Hopkins, I'm sure the medical care there is good but from what I've heard the experience of being a patient there sucks.
Michael M. replied:
Dr Leann Curl did both my knees. She also does the Raven's knees.
Chuck L. replied:
I second Michael Miller's Dr. Curl recommendation. Take a look at the Raven's sideline on Sunday, you'll see her, she's pretty tall.
Eric H. replied:
I third Michael and Chuck. Dr. Curl is a fantastic surgeon, top of the game and did my second knee surg. Tell her I say hi if you go that route and good luck on the mend.

My two cents Bruce, acupuncture is a great source of pain relief among other ailments. My acupuncturist is William Zvarick of Integrative Health Centers, I go to him in the Towson/Lutherville area. He is exceptional!! There is however a time for surgery when needed. I've had enough of them to know.@Shiela Kurth....a Chiropractor is a doctor. There are some good ones out there.....BTW Bruce Dull...good luck with your surgery.
Iamann I. replied:
Bruce, Russ has a bulging and canted disc that they can not do surgery on. He will be in a wheelchair one day and we are facing that. Don't let it go to that point.
