My kits go to Bethany family Vet It’s a great clinic. They are a bit pricey but don’t force services and that’s nice. My cats are strictly indoors so we discuss immunizations and what they really need for their life style. https://bethanyfamilypetclinic.com/

Anybody know a good, honest veterinarian in the Beaverton/Tigard area?
Tonya S. replied:
Dr. Davis is wonderful. He is off of Canyon. It says Portland in his address, but it only takes me 10-15 minutes, so I still consider it Beaverton. Here his address/phone and a bunch of great reviews. https://plus.google.com/112025314359065824713/about?gl=us&hl=en

We've taken our pets to Dr. Davis at Vista Pet Hospital for close to 20 years--reasonable and good Vet.
Joel D. replied:
4 people recommended Dr. Davis at Vista Pet Hospital. Thanks! Our cat was examined today and is scheduled for a dental cleaning tomorrow. I guess he hasn't been flossing after every meal
Joni M. replied:

If an ultrasound would work I just had one done as an outpatient at Dove Lewis in NW Portland. It was the cheapest in the Portland area at $330.
Robin M. replied:
So sorry. .. they will figure out how to get him better. I love German Shepherds.
Erica H. replied:
There are a few board certified veterinary radiologists (DACVR) in the Portland area. Dove Lewis is one of them, and is the closest.... is a good choice, just like LeeAnn Bliss said.
Yvonne P. replied:
Call MidWay Vet. If they don't have one they will refer you.

We adopted our new pupper from the Oregon Humane Society a few weeks ago, and they told us that she has a chipped tooth, so we'd need to take care of it. They recommended a place in Vancouver called Orchards Veterinary Clinic, saying that they provide great service and super affordable dental work. We took our pupper there yesterday, letting them know that they won't be the main vet (because not near our house) but they were recommended by OHS. Dental exam, cleaning, anesthesia, and tooth extraction cost $250. Everyone was super friendly, and they also trimmed her nails while she was under, no extra cost! In and out in 1 day, took about 6 hours.
drmordrid replied:
Given that Portland is a pretty expensive city, I’d say that’s not bad, depending on the condition of the teeth, whether they anticipate having to do any extractions, etc. Whatever you do, please don’t opt for an anesthesia free dental; although cheaper (because you’re cutting out costs associated with anesthesia), it is an extremely painful and inhuman practice that does not properly clean the teeth and is not recommended by the AVMA or AVDC (for all the reasons why, here’s a link to a good article - https://www.avma.org/News/JAVMANews/Pages/160201 a.aspx).

Forever Pet Dental. Great teeth cleaning, amazingly kind service. Much better prices then everyone else. Now we use them as our regular vet.
umryan replied:
For my cat I use Banfield's membership plan which includes dental. I generally recommend it as it makes dental cleaning a little more affordable and includes many other benefits and services. Not sure if there are any branches local to Beaverton area, but I hope this helps.

Dr. Brian Bartel at [West Hills Animal Clinic](http://westhillsanimalclinic.com/) is the best! He's got a really kind disposition, he keeps up on new research and treatments, he spends more time explaining things to me than my own doctor does, and he reliably comes in about 1/3 less than the prices I was being quoted at large national chain clinics. His staff are also super nice. I cannot recommend him enough. I'm grateful we found him before our last dog got cancer.

I took my cat to forever pet dental in Vancouver (recommended by a friend). Everyone was nice and professional. Ended up finding cancer during prescreen tests and so we didn't get the dental service but will be taking our other animals there in the future for their dentals.
Any veterinary dermatologist recommendations? My poor kitty has been having itching problems and my 4 trips to the vet haven’t been of much help.
TightSoup5 replied:
Animal dermatology clinic in west portland, on Beaverton, highway. This guy helped my dog in 1 visit when multiple other vets couldn't. My regular vet complained he wasn't a board certified dermatologist but he has years of experience and explained everything so well that we have been able to manage my dogs itchyness now for 2 years with only that 1 visit.
hereitcomesagin replied:
I've had several dogs whose itchy skin healed when I went to corn and soy free food. Now I go grain free and never have that problem.
Anyone in Beaverton/Tigard/Hillsboro have a really good vet they want to recommend? Cat and Dog need a doctor. We also need a good pediatrician and doctor for Nathan....
