I had a bad experience with a routine exam at Colorado Cat Clinic that has led to long-term consequences for my poor cat. He's 12 and has been to 8 vets across 3 states and CCC was the only truly negative experience I've ever had. Also, they wanted to charge me $1200 for dental work that Bend Vet completed with no complications for $500. Happy to share specifics privately. I've had good experiences at Bend Veterinary Clinic and Mountain View Animal Hospital in Redmond, who are outstanding with cats.

Riverside is great. AlsoBend Vet Clinic on Quimby ave just remodel expanded. Edit: also the hospital next to Fred Meyers great and 24 hr emerg too. The banfield too, I found they did insurance stuff easiest. We have lots of excellent vets!

Bend Vet Clinic used to be good, but their quality has gone downhill and I don't understand why people love them so much, it seems like all hype. I go to Brookswood and am much happier. I've heard great things about East Bend too. PS I have a dog but I don't think that should matter much.

Central Oregon Cat Hospital. Dr. Hailey is so kind and patient with my 17 year old kitty. It's not cheap but my cat has received excellent care so far. In fact, Dr. Hailey called this morning to check on my cat since her emergency visit yesterday. My cat also saw Dr. Miller, but I just love Dr. Hailey so much for her bedside manner.

I work for Bend Veterinary Clinic (reception.) I wish I would have found this clinic years ago, it would have saved me a lot of money when I had 3 sick cats on my hands. Our prices are very reasonable, especially for basic exam fees/urgent care exams. I love our doctors. It's a popular/busy spot though since we're an emergency vet in addition to a regular vet - which means some days you might end up waiting a little while for the doctor even if you have an appointment. It does however indicate they're taking the time to give thorough care to all the fur babies.

I love Bush Animal Clinic. I take my 14 year old kitty there. Dr. Quinn is so kind, she takes her time with the examination, she is gentle, and really informative. I can't reccomend her enough!

Jennifer S. replied:
Thank you all! I just got another suggestion for Bend Vet Clinic with Dr. Moss who took care of a bunch of semi feral shelter dogs for our friend... That comforts me since Emma is so skittish. I like the High Desert suggestion too, will keep that as a backup since a friend personally recommended Dr Ross.
Marlowe S. replied:
High Desert Vetinary has really great reviews Jennifer they are open tommorrow.
Shelly A. replied:
Give Emma State smooches. Khan has to be put under anesthesia when he rips, splits, etc. nails. I hope Emma will be OK.

Ack! Shelly, I'm of no help at all. I'm not familiar with that area. Angela Adams may have a connection though.

I had an Oregon friend highly recommend Cinder Rock also, so if the others don't work out, that is a possibility.
Sherri R. replied:
I take my dog to Cinder Rock Vet clinic in Redmond. Have been going there for many, many years. They're great and open on Saturdays.

Yes, Dr. Moss use to be the vet for HSO for years at SNIP in Prineville. I transported dogs from the shelter to him…..I also have used Redmond Vet Clinic, Dr. Shawn, for my beloved Coco, now deceased. I believe they are open until noon on Saturdays.

Hey Callee Swiney we did have that special going, but the money has run out now... can I ask where you saw that so that I can take it down? We do offer spays for $80 and for Pitties we can do it for less if you can't afford that, so call us and we will work with you! 541-617-1010. smile emoticon
Megan W. replied:
Hi Callee Swiney BSNP is perfect for a basic exam, shots, and de-worming. We charge $15/vaccine and $5-$10 for general de-worming... a basic exam is included with your vaccination. It is good to establish a relationship with a regular vet at some point however, just in case you were to need them if he got sick/injured, etc. and we recommend Bend Vet or Blue Sky as well!

I've been using Ark Animal Clinic for years. Love them. We fed Costco puppy food and now Costco nature domain adult food. Costco foods get 4 out of 5 stars on online ratings against all other brands. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Thank you Sharon. We just consulted with Dr. Joel Wallach ( for those of us old enough to remember, he is the vet from Omaha's Wild Kingdom TV show). He's an expert on nutrition and mineral deficiencies and he said she is very minerally deficient and that's what has caused her fetlocks to be growing improperly. So you are right on with the deficiency. I will check into the phosphorus and see if I can add it along with the things that he told me to give her
