I would recommend The Pregnancy Aide Center on 193 in College Park or your local health department. The health department has a women's clinic next to PG Hospital. I personally do not agree with Planned Parenthood and there are many other options. The health department bills on a sliding scale based on income.
Jacqueline L. replied:
Also if you are 24 yrs old or younger the health department has a FREE clinic on 214. I believe it is called Healthy Teens clinic but they will see you up to age 24.

Pregnancy Aid Centers are great if you already know you do not want the full range of options available to us by law (thankfully) in Maryland They do not offer Planned Parenthood will give information on all options in a neutral and non judgemental way.

She's just looking for birth control. Depo-Provera is a shot women get more often in developing countries than here, which prevents pregnancy for 12 weeks at a time. It's very effective, the main problem is that it causes calcium loss from your bones, especially if used over a period of time. She should discuss that and possible alternatives with a doctor. The Pregnancy Aide center in College Park does offer birth control just FYI. The health department also offers a full range of birth control options including IUDs. I just want people to know there are other options besides Planned Parenthood. If all you need is birth control why not check them out.

Oh man, I can't believe anyone likes Dr. Rogers! He was a condescending jerk to me during my pregnancy! I use Dr. Schauchter in College Park. He is such a a great and thorough doc. And they are part of an urgent care also so you can walk in and appts are easy to make. He is my family's primary care dr.
