Go see Birmingham Healthy Minds. They do CBT-based stuff, including therapy, and have really helped me in the past year. You can fight this. You have all our support.

Cedar Counselling at the Meridian Centre on Yardley Wood Road. Minimum voluntary contribution depending on your income for a 50 minute session. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

There is an Autism support group that meets at PC First United Methodist. Lots of parents there. Call the church at 338-3374 for times/day of meetings

Epic School in Birmingham serves multi handicapped students and those not handicapped in a mainstream environment. It's practically on campus at UAB.
