I'm the groomer at The Dog Port. Ali's referring to "overheating" has happened mostly at big box chains that use box dyers - nicknamed in the industry as "puppy ovens". I do not use that method or drying. The only cage dryer I have is one that distributes cool air, and 99% of the time I don't need it.

I groom every dog start to finish, so there is no waiting in cages. I would typically book 1.5 to 2 hours tops to fully groom a GSD. I'm assuming he's probably shedding, so there is a lot to deshed. I also know GSD's can be a lot to handle; I used to work above a facility that trainer police/drug/bomb sniffing dogs so I'd I was seeing them daily for a year.
