My dog is 14 years old and has become very anxious. I am looking for a “geriatric vet” recommendation, if such a vet exists. Thanks.
Joan B. replied:
YES Dr Becky Schoenberg Autumn Care & Crossing. She specializes on senior pets and hospice care and will come to your home. Becky also will coordinate with your vet in you wish. She is presently the doctor for several friends and was essential for our family when our 14 year old Wizard was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Rachel S. replied:
Anne Johnson/ betsy@housecallvet.biz. she is AMAZING
Sue D. replied:
Dr. Becky Schoenberg of Autumn Care and Crossings has a practice that includes in-home geriatric pet care. She is very skilled and compassionate. https://autumnvet.com/
Joan B. replied:
I would also suggest Dr Becky Schoenberg Autumn Care & Crossings as she was wonderful for our 14 year old Berner/ Aussie. FYI Please be advised A-DOG & A-CAT with ACO Diane Welch are co-sponsoring "Care of Senior Pets & Hospice" with Dr Schoenberg Thu…See More
Jennifer E. replied:
We're also using Autumn Care & Crossings for our kitty with lymphoma. I'd also recommend Dr. Kathia at http://www.animalsfirst.vet for routine home care. And we also use Pet Acupuncture Works for home acu treatments.
Emily H. replied:
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Schoenberg. She's wonderful.
Susan C. replied:
You might want to consider seeing Dr. Stephanie Born-Weil at Tufts in Grafton, she is a veterinary behaviorist. There is also Dr. Lisa Moses at Angell, who specializes in pain mgmt & therefore sees many geriatric patients. Good luck!
Jane M. replied:
We use Dr. Betsy Johnson with Lincoln Vet Services. She comes to our house to see our 14 year old dog and she's wonderful and has given us a lot of quality of life advice and some medication. https://housecallvet.biz

Angell Memorial in JP has many techs. I used one from there years ago and it was $30 a visit, but again, it was many years ago.
My boyfriend and I will be new to the Scituate area in the fall and are looking for a dog walker and a vet. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Pat Hess, housecalls for Pets. Pat is a wonderful, caring vet.
Mary D. replied:
For a vet I use Crazy Paws
Kerri W. replied:
Yes... Driftway vet is very very expensive... We went for years and they wouldn't see my dog in an emergency
Donna L. replied:
Hingham Animal Clinic on 3A. They are reasonably priced and awesome.
Dana D. replied:
Best vet around, in my opinion, is Dr Waters at the Hingham Animal Clinic on Rte 3A!
Stacy H. replied:
Although they weren't our vet, Driftway Animal Hospital was amazing when our Walker was hit by a car... Dog walking would depend on where you live. There are def services, but I like putting a kid who wants a pet to work!!
Christina S. replied:
Love Crazy Paws, she went above and beyond when our new kitten was dying.
Kathy W. replied:
Take the Lead Pet Care here in Scituate on Gannett Road! Nancy and her team are the absolute best in pet care, walking, sitting and all around services. We use her for both our crazy Portuguese Water Dog and little kitty regularly. 781-378-1696.

Rona F. replied:
My cats get excellent health care by Dr. Parker at Porter Square Vet. It is in Davis Square, Somerville. Parking is easy there. Lots of support staff. Appointments are almost always on time. My cats have been very long lived -- 17 years, 19 years and 18 years and still alive. Some of this is luck and much of this is the preventative medicine style of this office.
Anyone know of a vet that will come to the house to euthanize a cat. Please no sarcastic remarks
Ann M. replied:
There's a traveling vet on the South Shore - Dr. Joanne Keith - travelingpetclinic.com. Not sure whether she'll travel to Southie, but may be worth giving her a call. She will help you with your baby. Sorry he or she is sick.
