When my wife was training for the Leadville 100 last year, she wanted to take up crossfit just for some crosstraining in a group atmosphere. We liked ROOTS for a while, but then it got a little too cult/cliquey and wanted to just push push heavy heavy all day, when we were really just using it for recovery/cross training and didn't want it affecting our runs. They weren't very runner friendly. at all.

I haven't been to the Sanitas Crossfit near Sprouts on Arapahoe, but I have seen people running near there - as in, people paying to workout there were doing the running (in a group) as part of their workout. Hopefully someone that has actually worked out there can chime in?

Ruya on Valmont is amazing! I've been there just over a year. It's still relatively small, focus is on safety and community, and I've always felt like it was exceedingly welcoming to new folks. Smart programming too. Brian, the owner, is awesome. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to this place. Free class every Saturday to check it out.

Sean Langford is super great. His fb is Maverick Movement Fitness. I've trained with him, and he helped me undo the damage that a weird chin jut habit had created. He works out of two different gyms in Boulder, and has his own equipment! I honestly could not recommend him more. I think he's $45 for 30-minute sessions but does a punchcard kind of system!

Jerry Hernandez at the Y on Mapleton. Half hour sessions are $30.

What does a personal trainer know. That you don’t know. Bro use YouTube.
Motivation is one
If you lack motivation
Get one... they will push you. And if they sit you down on a machine... that’s a wag of the finger! Three wags to be specific. I’m not implying a machine can’t get you better. But most are useless clutter in a “gym.” See planet fitness we don’t judged ya. Lol

Will LeBoeuf or Sam Iannetta at Functional Fitness are good. Mostly older people and really focuses on structure, posture and longevity. Got me back feeling right after knee surgery. Costs more than you want, but they let you split with a friend, which gets it to $45/hr.

https://www.frontrangegains.com/ Jayson Ball is a starting strength coach who can teach you form for the key barbell lifts that will help you improve your overall strength and posture. One of the few Starting Strength certified coaches in Colorado. I went to him to get my form correct and have been lifting on my own since.
ChillSygma replied:
I'm working with Vince DeLuca (invinceyoureable@gmail.com) who is pretty new, but has he certification and is quite affordable - his rates drop the more you work out with him, (I think). He focuses on strength and using body weight as equipment, so you don't need a gym.

I'm also trying to improve my posture, and I go to Pilates classes at Boulder Bodyworks. The intro pack is three private sessions for $237, and after that classes (2-5 people, 1 instructor) are $310 for a 10 class punch pass. Also, there is a bare bones gym - IronWorks nearby, and they have a number of personal trainers that will come to that gym and train you. I was a member of they gym for a while, but never tried any of their trainers - the gym equipment is good though.
