Does anyone have any suggestions for some good fitness magazines to get subscriptions to to keep me informed and up to date as a personal trainer?
Keri M. replied:
look for books and good websites, not magazines. Magizines are trying to sell you something. Good people to follow. Z-health, Brent Brookbush, Authority Nutrition, Precision Nutrition, just a few to get you started. Then see who these people follow.
Steve S. replied:
Try onfitnessmag.com. It is geared towards trainers. Sometimes a bit hard to find at the newsstand but Barnes and Noble usually has it. Also ptonthenet.com is a great site where you can get articles and do CEUs online.
C.s. S. replied:
Basically nothing you'd find on your regular magazine racks. NASM Edge, Journal of the ISSN, NSCA and ACSM are the mainline stuff I follow in addition to blogs from StrongFirst and Training for Warriors. I'm also a podcast junkie and avid reader.
Mark W. replied:
Personal Trainer Development Center is a good source.
Santiago L. replied:
I like Fitness RX for women. They have a lot of great articles, especially for glutes. I get a lot of questions about the booty. I even do the exercises they say to do. Jaime Baird is the online editor and, I'm sure you know, an IFBB pro. Please don't take this as a plug for her or the magazine. I truly love what they have going on there. This is just a testimonial of how much I like the magazine and online site.
Emma S. replied:
The 'Starting Strength' Book is awesome they also have a website http://startingstrength.com/ loads of great info here.

Also, if you go on the babies r us website, they have example registries that pretty much give an idea of everything you might need. I joined Amazonmom on Amazon.com and started stockpiling diapers and wipes early, but I've also heard diapers.com has some great deals. On amazon mom, you can subscribe to diapers, wipes and other baby items and they'll send you your items every month, 2 months or however often you'd like them to.
