West Wind farms has raw milk and raw cheese. They deliver in our area once a week so I pick it up my order at their Hermitage delivery home on Wednesdays. It's cheaper if your going to buy milk to sign up for their Milk (Share) CSA. It's sold as Pet Milk, because raw milk isn't legal to sell in TN for human consumption...ridiculous! Here's a link to the milk share: http://www.westwindfarms.com/c-32-pet-milk-csa.aspx Here's a link for their raw cheese: http://www.westwindfarms.com/c-21-cow-milk-cheeses.aspx

How much do you pay for both, and what weights are you getting. The products our family purchases are much more rogue. Our milk comes in large gallon size pickle jars, that stay in a weekly rotation;-) But it costs less, is quite tasty, and saves me a pretty penny on butter, yogurt, buttermilk, and sour cream which I am able to do myself because of the price reduction. However, the more people that are able to support farms like Rolling Hills, or West Wind the more that we will find these prices coming down. This is the only true option in placing our ballot. I do vote in the polls, but every time I choose items from Target/Wal-Mart instead of craigslist I think of it as a vote.

My favorite place to get meat is Peaceful Pastures. They deliver to some of the farmers markets. Check out their website. They have a package called "Parts for People and Pets." $30 for a 25 lb. bag of misc. I got a bar of lye soap, a bunch of soup bones, goat hearts, kidneys, spleen, pig tails. Pretty good deal for pastured meat.

Franklin and Brentwood are good places to live. There is lots of access to real food in this area. The Franklin farmers market at The Factory every Saturday morning from eight until 12 noon is incredible. It's Williamson County where the schools are good too. Generally it's a little expensive but sometimes you can find good deals. It's an awesome place to live and I highly recommend it. Also have you been to my website, www.tennesseansforrawmilk.com? On there you can find access to raw dairy in all the areas around Tennessee.

Is Martin's Produce the one that is seasonal on the way to the mill? We get grain at the mill and buy produce there at that market on the way. Emily Slicer Bowen

I'm not sure. I get my cream from a farmer I know in college grove. I make my own butter with the cream (SO easy and tastes better) Dons is in the same strip as Tractor Supply and Goodwill in Gallatin. Far opposite end from TSC. He carries grass fed/finished beef along with several other goodies.
