Which "Doctor"? Chiropractor or Osteopath?
My back is fucked - any brighton based cripples have recommendation for someone to fix it?
Jenni C. replied:
Steve Chesters does a clinic near hove I think (he's IOW based but covers one day a week across naturopathic / holistic offices across South.... He's trained as all 3, practices as is required and doesn't book repeat consultations as standard (unless required) I'll post a link once home

Simon S. replied:
Try this guy but I think he has his private practice room up in Crawley. James passed his number to me as he works in one of the centres Lyra goes to. www.jmbodycare.com. He is a bit mental but he worked wonders with my back, even if he did make me cry in the process. Apparently he was nicknamed the 'Sadist' back in Hungary!
Gabi N. replied:
Chiro is horrible, painful and costs a fortune! There's a good Brighton based osteo called Chris Swain, he's fixed me up a few times.
Gary O. replied:
something like this will fix upper back, for lower do some twists. I've saved a fortune learning to fix my own back. http://www.birthease.co.uk/.../Natural-Birth-Fitness...
James H. replied:
Physio rather than chiro. I went to see Louis Jones@http://www.brightonphysio.co.uk/ when my back was bad, sorted me right out.

Sos Osteopaths Holly Neal
Anthony L. replied:
Osteopath - there's a load of wonderful hippy nonsense that goes on at this place, but Jezz the osteopath is fucking awesome - (also affordable and will tell you when you no longer need treatment) http://www.anahatahealth.com/ah_index_v2010.php?sw=1280&zz
Jody H. replied:
I tried chiropractor for my back, it certainly helps any acute issues, but has been unable to deal with the low-level chronic stuff. As already suggested, in my case and probably yours its probebly poor posture and over-computing! Just got this book in the hope that I can do something before I'm permanently crippled... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Step.../dp/B000OVLIOM/ref=asap_bc...
Helen M. replied:
John Taberman-Pilcher is an osteopath and a chiropractor, he's in framfield ner uckfield and he's amazing, people travel from all over the world to see him, he's not hippy and is an expert is the field of backs, he also likes to get you fixed in as fewer treatments as possible:)

Deborah M. replied:
Dentist-Dr Ronald Blackhurst. Try to find a Dr@the new Park City hospital-it's like a trip to the spa! The drive sucks in the winter though.
Perrine A. replied:
or, Dentist, Harald Clark on Highland Drive and maybe 3200 south; he's probably quicker to get into than Dr Mirci...
Can anyone recommend a good doctors' surgery in Brighton? I've moved down here for uni and need to register at a doctors, but I'm diabetic so will be visiting more often...
dpash replied:
One thing to pay attention to is that doctors have a catchment area and you have to live within that area to register with them, so your options may be limited.

http://www.nhs.uk/Services/gp/Overview/DefaultView.aspx?id=44872 This was mine. Always got an appointment same day if I called before 8 am. Great doctor, ideal location. They pushed my rhinoplasty surgery through really quickly. Would definitely recommend. Edit: if you're in Varley halls, don't go for the doctors close by. I forget the name but it's way up near the campus.
jontibingo replied:
Park Crescent at the bottom of Elm Grove always had speedy appointments when I lived round that way.
lyptt replied:
The health centre by brighton station is pretty good. Difficult getting appointments, but they're open 8 to 8, 7 days a week.
BuxtonTheRed replied:
I am on the books at [Pavilion Surgery](http://www.pavilionsurgery.co.uk/) - but they are quite big and can be busy. They run the common "EMIS Access" online system so you can book appointments and request repeat scrips without having to phone them up, which is handy.
Hi do any of you have dry eyes and mouth problems? I have primary POTS and secondary POTS. I live in the Brighton area is there a POTS doctor I can be referred to?
Genevieve B. replied:
Hi Pam, I'm in Hassocks. I haven't experienced dry eyes, but i did have vision problems a while ago after I passed out. Then i passed out a few weeks later and it was sorted. Haha. Try Dr Ellery at Princess Royal Haywards Heath. She is fantastic!
Genevieve B. replied:
Syncope. But she knows a lot about POTS and the surrounding conditions. She is lovely to talk to and takes into account your feelings and she emphasises with you. I changed to her recently as I had some awful experiences with him. He just ignored me. Also, ask to see Dr Saha. He is a neurologist, but he also knows about automatic nervous systems. The team at Haywards Heath Princess Royal are fantastic. I've never had better care. If you want to see a POTS specialist I highly recommend Dr Hagen at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. She is also fantastic and takes the financial side of things into consideration. She spent a good hour and a half with me on my first consultation in April, and next week I go back for 3 days for further testing. She is very quick.
Pam N. replied:
Thank you so much. I am a very complex elderly patient who has only found out my problems are that I was born Hypermobile. I was under rheumatology which is where Hypermobility should be seen, however the connective tissue lead never looked up from my bloods which were negative and nearly killed me! I will go back and explain that he ought to look at his patients not their bloods, but that's another matter! I have been waiting to see neurology since early Feb but still no appointment I am on the waiting list for the waiting list! I don't faint often but feel faint and have for the last 28 years. I was Beighton 9 now 3 but no doctor has ever asked, I will be seeing my GP tomorrow as he still hasn't a clue and will ask him to refer me to Dr. Ellery. Thank you so much.
Hey runners, Can anyone recommend a knee doctor? I have been having issues/pain with one knee for several months now and it isn't getting any better so I probably...
Jamie B. replied:
Not in the brighton area but dr Jeff Kovan at MSU or one of his colleagues at the sports medicine clinic.
Phil F. replied:
Advanced Orthopedic Specialists in Brighton is where I had both of my knees done.
John K. replied:
Hey Mark I think you remember me John Kennedy. I got my knee scoped by Dr Bruce Lawrence Genesis sports clinic in Holly Michigan. He did an awesome job.
Hellooo, just moved house, for those in Hove near Palmeira Sq, which is the best GP Surgery for doctors who who won't blame everything on being vegan
Ruth S. replied:
Montpellier Surgery are wonderful and have a great online booking system
Alice H. replied:
You posted this twice, Zoë! Also if it helps I go to Charter Medical Centre and they're pretty great. Not sure about the blaming things on being vegan. I would just not mention the fact that you're vegan so they don't take that into consideration haha.
So does anyone know a good double glazing doctor? I need three new locks on some windows! The companies I have spoken to are asking for to much, I mean how long does it...
Samantha G. replied:
I used Rhino Locks in Lancing recently for a new front door lock. They do window locks too. good service and not over the top prices
I am needing an intact friendly doctor in the Brighton area. Any suggestions?
Becky F. replied:
Thank so much! We have seen Dr. Garscadden here in Colorado Springs since he was the one who convinced us to keep my sons intact. We trust him so much and are nervous about finding somebody new. I will keep you posted on who we find.
