Dr Awner in the Dent Tower! Was fantastic with Shane!

Dr. Awner and Dr. Ladota are amazing. They work out of the Dent Tower on Sheridan!

Oh good to know! Silas has been seeing Dr. Q at Dent and I want to get his eyes checked to see if it's causing the migraines...

Alyssa saw Dr. Mechtler at Dent, but what helped her most was our chiropractor. She had terrible migraines in middle to high school, but for now she is free of them. We only see our chiro when she feels neck stiffness or just feels off. Our optometrist suggested light therapy as well, which we did for a short time. Hope this helps!
Looking for opthalmologist recommendations? Its about time I get a new script for my glasses, but I don't want to go to a chain like Stanton optical or America's Best....

Don't really recommend Buffalo Eye Care and Vision Associates on Elmwood and Delavan. They're definitely not terrible, but the prescription I got was adequate at best. I've been wearing glasses from the age of four, and I've definitely had prior optometrists do a better job fine-tuning the prescription. I didn't have to get anything remade but I would try elsewhere next time. The prices on the actual glasses were so-so. They gave me a buy one get one half off deal, which was good. Definitely recommend getting frames elsewhere, because they were somewhat pricey.

I highly recommend ECVA on Maple Road. I've been going to their practice since it was founded by my eye doctor, who has since retired. I've seen Dr. Montesanti for the last 12 years or so...he's great and saw me through two challenging eye surgeries. I sometimes see Dr. Hammersmith at the Elmwood branch office too, who is also really great.

You can also get an eye exam at an opthalmologist. I actually prefer it bc I know they are medical doctors. Glaucoma and macular degeneration run in my family so I take my eyes very seriously! I live in Eggertsville and go to Dr. Berardi at Opthalmology Associates of WNY on Spindrift Dr off Main St in Williamsville. (716) 632-3545 They also have an attached shop where you can buy glasses.

All of these are optometrists, which are not medical doctors. Opthalmologists are actually doctors and can provide a higher level of expertise and care that optometrists. Ophthalmologists are usually not employed by a big-box chain - you go to one when you need eye surgery.
That being said I recommend Buffalo Opitical. They are under new-ish ownership and it is a local chain. Since they have been under new ownership their prices actually went down and service is better. I had an eye exam last week and they had no problem giving me my Pupillary Distance measurement for glasses, which is something optometrists can be hesitant to do because they don't want to lose business to places like Warby Parker.

Ophthalmologists are not optometrists. Ophthalmologists perform surgeries on eyes. Optometrists prescribe corrective lenses
We can't get Andrew in to see a pediatric ophthalmologist for 3 months. Does anyone know a good optometrist he could see in the meantime?

Maithreyi Buddhiraju If u want it to be covered under ur Insurance (its very expensive otherwise) u'll first have to get a referral form from Michael hall and they'll give you a list of doctors in Buffalo that u can go visit. I'd gone to Ross Eye Institute near Summer Best St. Optometrist related issues are not covered under our insurance. Raviteja Mv: I hope this makes u happy...:P
