I love my pediatrician! Her name is Dr. Dennis with Over the Mountain Pediatrics it is located near Brookwood Hospital. I love all their doctors. The number is 8707292
Marlena D. replied:
My friend takes her kids to Vestavia Pediatrics and I've heard they are awesome, but when I called they weren't taking any new patients so I take mine to Over The Mountain Pediatrics with Dr. Baxley and they are wonderful!!

Charity M. replied:
We have two ADHD kids that are older teens and we go to Midtown Peds in Birmingham because it is worth it!
Melody T. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics. Dr Patti Schroder.
Amy N. replied:
Dr. Schroeder at Alabaster Pediatrics.
Mim B. replied:
My boys went to Dr. Schroder, but once they were about 11, I had to change to Greenvale because they wanted a male doctor and Alabaster Pediatrics doesn't offer a male doctor. Also, I think the doctors at Alabaster Pediatrics all work parttime, and it is extremely difficult to get an appointment when needed. They also rescheduled one of my son's well-child visit three times. That's also why I decided to change to Greenvale.
Ashley S. replied:
Southlake Peds! Dr. Ann Byars she is amazing. They are off Valleydale but worth the drive.
Amy B. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics is NOT Part-time Cyndia:) Not sure were or who they've had to deal with but we use Dr. Irons is a full time Dr...
Amelia S. replied:
Kimberly Crowson, the exact same thing happened to us!! They discharged us as patients bc they screwed up with scheduling. I didn't even get a certified mailed letter as notice that is required by law. I was so fed up with the front office staff that I didn't even care to fight them over it. It was super difficult to find a pediatrician who takes Medicaid. We finally found Dr. Baxley near 280 and we love her!
Lee P. replied:
Southlake Pediatrics. Love them. Left Greenvale for them
Christi R. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics is the BEST I've been with those ladies since my baby was little he is now 18 !! They ROCK
Sherri P. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics!! Holly Johnson's or Irons are really great. We moved here 4 years ago, and it's the best place. My 4 kids range in age 3-14 Good Luck
Victoria B. replied:
I stopped going to Greenvale and started going to Urgent Care. Sounds weird but I started going there for everything!
Amy B. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics is awesome Cyndia Kylie Dr. Irons is great any of them except Schroeder is what I've heard but been there since she's born love them:)
Mendy L. replied:
My boys see Dr Sester at Greenvale. I don't know about any of the other docs there but she has always been great and one if my sons has a very rare vascular tumor disease. If you haven't tried her, it may be worth looking in to. Also, her nurses have always been great and extremely helpful.
Rosa L. replied:
Alabaster Pediatrics - Dr. Dianne Matheson. All of the doctors are great...but Dr. Matheson is the best. She was at Greenvale when my 18 yr old was born but left and opened her own practice. We went with her and have never looked back. My 18 yr old was also diagnosed with ADHD and Dr. Matheson is very understanding. She is also the most thorough doctor I have ever been to see, for adults or children.
Michele O. replied:
Southlake Pediatrics at VAlleydale. Amazing.

Aj K. replied:
I use Dr Jolly I love him but don't like the nurses or front staff they are all so rude! I have be think about leaving myself!
Candi N. replied:
We see Dr Schroder at Alabaster Pediatrics. My she diagnosed my oldest with ADHD when he was 6, he is now 13.
Looking for new pediatrician any names... But please do not suggest Greenvale. Willing to drive to Birmingham
Meredith B. replied:
When you look it up it says Mayfair Medical Group...she is fairly new to this practice so her patient load isn't as heavy and it is easy to get in. 870-1273....easy to find just past Brookwood Hospital on Hwy 31
Meredith B. replied:
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Gretel Russel ...she use to be at Alabaster and we have followed her to Homewood. She is at Mayfair pediatrics. She is amazing and all my kids love her. Never cry when it is time to go to the dr. She is a mom of 4 young ones hers...See More
Leslie H. replied:
Why not Greenvale? Doctor Jolly is the best, in my opinion.
Meredith B. replied:
It is a good thing Alabaster isn't taking new patients bc they can't handle the ones that are there....they ONLY reason we were staying there was bc Dr. Russell was there but when she left we left. You could call for 30 mins after they opened on a Monday morning and they would be completely booked for the day by the time you got through. Not cool when you have sick babies at home.
Dana A. replied:
Dr. McCowan at Southlake Pediatrics-----he is great!
Branden S. replied:
We used Vestavia Pediatrics forever- until Dr. Smith retired. Now we use Brian Stansell (sp?) at Alabama Pediatrics in Homewood. I'd recommend either one.
Mary C. replied:
Corky we always used AL Ped. Dr Levin and Stansell are great! Not only were they ranked high, they are superb doctors!
Julie B. replied:
Stansell at Alabama Pediatrics in Homewood. Amazing place and WONDERFUL drs!
Emily P. replied:
Stansell, too, at Alabama Pediatrics. We love him and the practice. Dr. Amy there is really good, too.
Amy H. replied:
Birmingham pediatrics- dr Farr- heavenly
Lindsey J. replied:
I had another friend recommend Dr. McCowan at Southlake as well. Thank you all for such great advice!
Kim I. replied:
Southlake Pediatrics. Thanks to Dr Goldblatt Logan has his leg. He actually took Logan out of Children's Hospital's care and he was better in a week! I've used him for 12 years.
Monica R. replied:
Redmont. Dr Blair is fabulous. We drive from Atlanta to use him.
Melody T. replied:
Patti Schroder at Alabaster Pediatrics...she's AWESOME!!!
Corky A. replied:
Lindsey Jackson we are at the Mexican version in alabaster.
Parents,
Do any of you use Alabaster Pediatrics? We're swapping from Greenvalle, and I'm looking for recommendations for a Pediatrician at AP.
Brooke M. replied:
Thank y'all. I didn't like Greenvalle in Alabaster, so we went to Hoover, and it's just a little too far away. Adalyn used Dr. Matheson when she was a baby and we loved her, but she's only part time now.
Michelle W. replied:
Dr. Holly Johnson...but we have seen nearly all of hem and they are all great!
Michelle W. replied:
I have not seen Dr. Irons...but I have heard great things. From what I get from experience...you are not going to find better that at Alabaster! We use to go to Greenvale as well....so glad I switch with Caleb!
Brooke M. replied:
I think I'm going to try Dr. Irons. Thanks for the advice!
Jodie G. replied:
Jaxon sees Dr Matheson has since he came home from the NICU but we've seen Dr Irons a lot cause of Matheson being part. I love them all!!!!!!!
Brooke M. replied:
Thanks! We liked Dr. Matheson a lot. I ended up going with Dr. Irons.
Jodie G. replied:
I was going to switch to her since we see her most of the time when Dr Matheson isn't there but they won't let me switch until she retires or what not
