Looking for a RELIABLE, thinking, holistic-minded pediatrician in Cambridge (Boston). Urgently. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

You can find a recommendation for a doctor in Somerville here, if it's not too far: http://www.mothering.com/community/t/1178527/need-new-pediatrician-north-boston

I looked on mothering.com and found one recommendation: "Hi, my 19 month old daughter is a patient of Joel Sawady at Cambridge Family Health in Inman Square and we love him! We have been seeing him since my daughter's birth and he has been very appro...See More
Wait - so I have to pick a pediatrician and buy a couple of cans of formula for newborns (am BFing but want a backup) - man there's alot of details with this project......

Our pediatrician is at Harvard Vanguard Wellesley. They have a fairly regular "meet the pediatricians" where you can go in & chat with them. Based on that, we narrowed our choices to three doctors, took the kiddos to see each of them for different visi ts early on & settled on him. We love him & he lets Craig call him Dr. Sexy. His real name is Taylor Monica. You probably don't want to travel that far, but it's not much farther than Newton so I figured I'd throw it out there.

Eowyn W. Evans - agreed. I heard the Earth's Organic Best had more sugar and that is why babies like it. Not sure if that is true or not:)

Centre Pediatric in Brookline is good to us.
Lynda S. replied:
Hmm - I thought you asked for a Pediatrician and not everyone and their sisters stance on how you feed your minion. To that end, we use Michael Whitner at Harvard Vanguard Quincy. I love Harvard Vanguard because they have nurse-manned after hours, urgent care and are affiliated with Children's.

Middlesex Moms Facebook group, BabyCafe, and kellymom are like having an army of LCs and moms at your back. And when in doubt, do what works best for your family, there are hundreds of ways to parent awesome-ly!

I can highly recommend adding a lactation consultant to your to-do list. Doctors and hospitals don't know much about breast feeding (which is putting it politely.) Parents often get bad advice in the first few days when good advice would have been real ly useful. Lactation consultants have huge arsenals of experience and strategies for making breast feeding a success. (It's not always easy, and that's ok too.) Most babies have seemed to like the Earth's First Organic brand the best (and it smells the most like food.)
Can anybody recommend a pediatrician locally or in Easton? Especially one who might not be part of a multidoctor practice and is able to take time to talk to me before...

Thanks everybody. I'll put in a call to ask about Dr. Langfitt. I feel like Bay Peds is fine but I'm concerned about handing off scripts for Zantac to a 4 year old and saying "It's not asthma, it's GERD" after a single visit with a dr who has never even treated him for an ear infection before.:(
Bonnie K. replied:
Do you think Dr. Cook is worth having a chat with separate from the other doctors?
Jess L. replied:
Dr Langfitt. Very thorough and takes his time. Love him!
Laura A. replied:
We love love love Dr Langfitt! I've also seen Ms Gall in his office and was very pleased with her too. Both very patient, I don't feel rushed, and they aren't quick to give out medicine.
Amber C. replied:
Dr. Corden. He's been amazing. I left Bay peds to go to him and love him to pieces.
Tina W. replied:
We have gone to Dr Lanfitt for 16 years and we love him. My son was born with a heart condition and kept going into cardiac arrest few times a week ...Dr Langfitt would call me few times in the middle of the night to check on my son cause he know I'll be up giving him his medications. When a Dr calls middle of the night to check up on my son...I just couldn't ask for any better Dr. He will take the time over phone or in person to discuss anything about your concern
Hi everyone! I'd appreciate if you could recommend me a pediatrician ostheopath for my baby (he is 16 months).
Erin H. replied:
I use Gopaul K Gupta in Cambridge. Though he is not a osteopath, I really like his non western views and he has ALWAYS shown respect to my children and I.
Anyone go to McMaster for their child's diagnosis? Anyone recently? My sons peads Dr is trying to fax the referral in, but it isn't working. I'm literally going to...
Melissa W. replied:
Try CMHA? We started in Cambridge and moved to Guelph, got our diagnosis through Dr. Carter (who is Mac Dr but works out of kidsabiliity) and they diagnosed her through a physchologist at cmha. I believe cmha is waterloo wellington Dufferin so should cover you as well
Melissa W. replied:
If your dr can refer you to her, Dr. Teresa Carter, you will be in fantastic hands!
