Looking for your suggestions for a seasoned, expert ophthalmologist, one who is the best in the area (Newburyport and points south and north) for diagnosing and treating...
Marcia F. replied:
Dr. Richard Strecker. My cousin and no pun intended not bad on the eyes. I believe he has offices in Scituate and Cohasst.
Shawn F. replied:
Dr. Bernard Heersink! I had taken various eye drops for glaucoma for a decade. I also had laser surgery with another doctor. Dr. Heersink "cured" my glaucoma via laser surgery. You can find him via Anna Jaques. In my opinion, he is as good or better than Boston ophthalmologists!
John G. replied:
Dr.Heersink at Anna Jaques.....he diagnosed a rare condition that 2 other eye docs missed.
Janice V. replied:
Dr. Glenn Kimball in Haverhill
Leslie B. replied:
Dr Glenn Kimball is comforting, most knowledgeable, and gives a thorough exam.
Shawn F. replied:
Sorry it didn't work out for you two with Dr. H. I've also had bad experiences with doctors in the past.
David W. replied:
Dr Ben Heersink
Janice V. replied:
As much as I like and respect Dr. Kimball, who is very experienced and extremely competent, I would agree that Mass. Eye and Ear is the place to go. If you call their appt. line, you will be able to schedule without a long wait. If it's surgical, you really couldn't go to a better place.
Carol H. replied:
Peter Rapoza,MD at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. His practice has just become associated with MGH and they have brand new offices in Danvers at the MGH doctors building - right off 128. Their local office was in Beverly until recently. The phone number I have for them is 978-524-0050 or you can call their main office in Boston which is 1- 800-635-0489 where they can make appointments for any of their offices. If he is keeping to his former schedule, he comes to Danvers on Thursdays...
Carol D. replied:
I didn’t love Dr. Heersink. On the other hand, I think Dr. Kimball is great.
Jamie W. replied:
Dr. Richard Chace in Portsmouth.
Patricia D. replied:
I hear great things about Dr.Kimball in Haverhill I've waited several months to get an appointment. He recently did a cataract surgery on and elderly relative and he was able to renew his license.
Luann W. replied:
Yes! Dr. Here's ink.
Mary H. replied:
Dr. Bernard Heersink
Deanna D. replied:
Luann Wetmore D& Mary Jo Haley, please PM me. Have either one of you had eye surgery with Dr. Heersink?
Marcia F. replied:
FYI Dr. Heersink asked my cousin years ago to join his practice.
Carol H. replied:
Deanna, two of my friends and I have had Lasik eye surgery with Peter Rapoza and another had him do her cataract surgery - all with excellent results. He is the most thorough ophthalmologist I have ever been to...
