If you're in TX, would Houston area be too far? If she is comfortable staying, there should be many opportunities for week long over night camps (and then distance won't be as big a factor since you can just drop off and pick up at the camps start and end). Check out museums and science centers. Camp Quest is already wait listing.:( She could also maybe be old enough to go to a camp in a junior counselor position.
